November Days

From Magan's Facebook Post:  I just love getting the “Sam is home” and “Davis is home” notifications from life 360.  These are the very best days. There’s nothing better than family time and I am so excited about the rest of the week with the rest of our family!  Happy Thanksgiving friends!  Also, how cute are my cooking side kicks!

This month was a crazy month with a government shutdown record of 43 days, but strangely enough in the circles I run in, the conversation tended to lean more towards when ESPN and YouTube could come together to make an agreement.

I wish I could capture completely a conversation that cracked me up between Ruby and Magan.   Magan was trying to point out to Ruby that if she would have had a cell phone, she could have just jumped into the car rider line on a day when we let her ride the bus home, and we were almost late to a wedding (See pics from Josh Baker's wedding below).   Ruby said "We can not check our phones at school, Mom".   Then Magan said, but if you did check it after school, you could just tell them that you had after school stuff, and we pick you up.   "There are no after school activities on Friday" Ruby replied.   Magan was getting frustrated and said, but we had time to pick you up in the car if we could have let you know.   Ruby quickly said "Car Rider line ends at 3:07, and 2nd Bus has to be gone by 3:09, I don't think I would have enough time to make that change".   hahaha...you had to be there.   She is quick, and she is a by the watch type of girl, completely opposite of "Everything will work out just fine and you will always be on time if you just click your heels together and think happy thoughts" Magan.

So what else is in all these pics below...Wicked movie night with the full crew...pickleball days...a work trip to Baltimore, where I had amazing views of the harbor each day...Davis' brakes go out...Josh's wedding with his uncle Stephen showing the dress first...Stella in a Gatsby musical show...Mom getting very excited about everyone being on facetime together...Fun times at the hospital with Nanny...Bama football games, where Davis randomly runs into Wyatt and Mark amongst 100,000 people...church thanksgiving meal...and silly Sam, Davis, Noel parking crew nights.

During my trip to Baltimore, I noticed a guy with face tattoos checking in on the plane from Birmingham to Charlotte I was on.   I did not get a long look, but enough to think that it was Shayne Smith, one of my favorite Dry Bar comedians.   I have watched "Prison for Wizards" and "Alligator Boys" too many times to count.   But those were his first specials, and the hair had thinned a bit...but face tattoos seemed the same.   So I nervously got on the plane behind him thinking I will just get a selfie with him as I pass by, but he was further back on the plane.   So I sat down, and did a quick google search to find that in fact Shayne Smith was at the Comedy Club Stardome the previous night, so I knew it was him.   As I got off in Charlotte, I waited for him to exit the plane, and stopped him for a picture.   He was super cool about it, and my reference to "Mountain Dew Guy" and letting him know that I had an actual "Shayne Smith" Pandora station I think convinced him I was a big enough fan.   He told me he had a new special coming out soon on Angel Studios, and then we went our separate ways.   I will admit, I was star struck, and had to take a minute to remember where I was going and what gate I needed to make it to.   Really good experience to meet someone that makes me laugh "like so so hard you guys".

Magan got her first experience at Doordash while at the hospital with Nanny, and found out that things just don't seem to work for her like they do for other people.   Her order to Starbucks included a coffee and a breakfast sandwich, but after nearly an hour, a wet bag with a wet sandwich and missing coffee was delivered by the wrong person.   So that happened.
