Brave

We don't get to the movies that often, but made it to a Birthday Party to watch Disney's "Brave".  This is all the kids from church that made it to the movie.  Sam and Davis cackled through it, and this being the day after my vertigo episode was pretty fun.  Imagine yourself spun around and around and around, then thrown into a dimly lit room.  Little Belle loved it, but jumped up in her "mommy"'s lap when the bears starting fighting.  And this is definitely the first Disney animated movie I remember with some nudity.  Strange, although I'm pretty sure Walt would have chuckled about those scenes as well.

Splash Adventure Water Park

I don't ever get to go to Visionland...Alabama Adventure...Splash Adventure Park.  Always gone for some reason, but the Johnson's are big fans, and our crew got to join them.  Magan said the kids had a blast, and that Jasper was super sweet taking Belle down a certain slide...over and over again.  Davis did not want to wear a life jacket, but once Jasper put one one...he was ok with it.  Sam and Davis were excited to tell me about a "dark slide" where Davis went down like this (surfer pose) and Sam went down like this (superman head first).

The Magic Man

Magan signed the kids up to attend a Magic Show at the local library.  I like the shirt.  Kids had the balloons for over a week.  This is what I plan to do when I retire, or maybe what I'll do at the retirement home.  Hmmm...maybe both.

Guys Day Out 2012 (Cullman Golf Course)

Missing last year because of an expected Rain Delay for the Shuttle Launch, but the guys did make it together this year for a Golf Outing.  We picked up an extra this year (Mark), which has thrown us into the unknown with a prime total of 5.  The 5-some worked well, even after Colby had to let some older guy at Cullman about the fact they better be open for him.

Old Man:  We are closed today
Colby:  NO you are not
Old Man:  We had a big crowd, 15 teams! We will be busy till 6 PM
Mark:  WHAT TIME DID YOU START?

Old Man exits off stage left, reappears in snack bay window eating snickers and daydreaming about the girl he left one summer's morning nearly 40 years ago.  "She was the one" he thought to himself, as he realized the chubby red haired feller was still looking at him in disbelief.   "We are closed today" he muttered once more mostly to himself.  The Old man nods his head falling to sleep dreaming of what might have been.

Colby:  What was up with that guy?
Mark:  I don't know, I was about to talk some smack, but figured he might be another Elder.
Colby:  Hey, cool shirt.
Mark:  Yeah, right back at you, Ice Man

OK, back to the golf...where were we at?  Ok, we all had some lunch at Chick-Fil-A, were required to show ourselves to the Listerhill crew, then off for the golfing.

The first hole was very nice as I had a decent drive, then Colby was learning how to play in the trees.  I shared with the team that they were adding a new Walmart in Cullman.  Yeah, they found enough space between my ball and Colby's to put it there.  Boo Yah, I knew I would not get to use that again for the rest of the day.  I pared the first hole, then when crazy for the rest of the day.  Oh well, at least I got a picture of everybody taking a swing on our guys day out.

After golf, we crashed and Granddaddy's and tried to hydrate ourselves after 6 hours in the 100 degree weather.  Crazy!  Next Year...White Water Rafting!

Quick Trip to the Leeds Memorial Park

Nothing much to say here...just took a quick trip up to Leeds to see the GiNormous playground.  This ranks number 1 for the kids.  And we couldn't believe Belle walked to the top by herself and went down this slide. Good to have brothers.  Sam and Davis stayed on the merry-go-puke contraption most of the time.

Cousins Together at McWane

I can't say much for this trip, as I was not there, but everyone had a blast.  Addy and Belle look a little out numbered by all those boys.

OK, this picture above will be great if they end up forming a boy band.  And see if you can find Sam in the picture below...

Bears for a Good Cause

I am sure this is something done in a lot of hospitals, but one of the secretaries where I work was selling (collecting donations for) these bears, and you get to decorate the shirts and give them to a child in the hospital that is unable to decorate it due to their illness.  Knowing how much the kids love decorating anything, and this being a great opportunity to help others, we decided to do some decorating.  Mom helped with the supplies, and the boys did some great designs.  The one in Sam's lap has the Smoky Mountains and a river on it.  We decorated the bears and sent them on their way to a child in need, each bear had some extra hugs and love from Sam, Davis, and Belle.

Castle or Fort?

The week after John gets back from his Honeymoon, and I immediately recruited this lounging no work/no school bum to work on our new swingset.  Glad I had him, I would still be out there right now putting it together...probably crying a lot.  Ask Sam and Davis, it is a fort, but for my little princess, it is her castle.  Mom also was able to present her with the Cinderella costume, which quickly got glitter all over anyone that came near her.  Also needing a costume, Mom found Davis a transformer costume, and Sam a spiderman costume.  Good idea picking up stuff on the 75% off rack after Halloween last year.
