Jumping round June

Just a couple of short stories before we get to the pictures...Belle has identified a new word (Exspose) and uses it quite frequently, as in "When are we exsposed to go to DisneyWorld?"...Davis surprised me with some insight into our friends in California.  In serving the kids bacon one morning for breakfast, he informed us that "In Hollywood, they would say NO to this stuff, they only eat veggies out there".

So a lot of random pictures below...roller skating, Cars 3, clay shaping, fishing...just a few of the many things keeping us busy this Summer.  And lastly...me and the boys made the Tanneyhill wood carvers monthly newsletter...Sam and "Travis" had a blast there...and one of my favorite texts from Magan...sometimes spell check doesn't help you...

Boy Scout Summer Camp

KI was unable to join Sam on the Boy Scout Campout this year, but I don't think he missed us much.  That guy is full scout.  He worked on 6 merit badges at Camp Comer this year...Electricity, Basket Weaving, Wood Carving, Fishing, Pulp and Paper, and something else I don't remember.  He brought home some really cool projects, and many stories about how fun Camp Comer was.

On the way up, Sam was riding with the guys carrying the Scout trailer.  Apparently it was too heavy, and a tire went out on the interstate.  So after putting the spare on, they traveled 5 minutes further down the road when the other tire blew, and sent the trailer fender flying off and over the two scout vehicles behind the trailer.  So the scouts had to lighten the trailer and move stuff into other vehicles, while they found the only spare tires 80 miles away.  Finally they made it to Comer about 3 hours late, but just in time for supper.

Sam told me the other main story was on Friday, they had a break from merit badge classes so he and Corrin went on a 10 MILE HIKE! ... IN THE RAIN ... To see a waterfall.  They had one poncho, and some trail mix for both of them.  Anyway, they made it, just made it back late to camp and missed lunch.  But sounded like quite an adventure, and probably something he will remember for a long time.

The Big Kaboom

Girls were up in Cullman for the baby shower, and Sam was coming in on this day from Scout Camp.  So me and the boys maintained the tradition of going to the Big Kaboom.  Huge area this year in Chelsea, and we had a great time.  Cub Scouts led out the flag, and led the pledge.  Then after some early signs, the bottom dropped out and we got very wet.  We stayed in the car and watched several grand finales with what we think was some controls messed up by the rain.  Ha, and we laughed when Davis finally closed that explorer hatch door...water drenched him...luckily he had the trash bag poncho on.
