The Monster Truck Wreck

Magan can edit this post later and describe first hand the account of the Monster Truck Wreck, but I will write how I found out about this accident and the details surrounding it.

I had training that day at work, and as I often do, I left my cell phone in my cubicle drawer and did not go back to get it until the end of the day. So I had no communication with Magan all day, and as I get back to my cubicle, I notice the message light on my office phone, then notice three missed calls on my cell phone... OH NO!!! I am in trouble is my initial thought...

Call #1: Hey Scott...After work can you please go to Walmart and get some Milk...and cream cheese...and pick up some pictures for me that I will print out later...and get some bananas too...Love you Magan

Call #2: Hey Scott...where are you at? Well, it is a pretty day...Me and the boys are going to go outside to let Sam drive his monster truck around.

Call #3: SCOTT...where are you? Sam had an accident in the monster truck. IT FLIPPED OVER with Sam and Davis in it. What do I need to do? I think we may go to the doctor.

Call #4: SCOTT...I don't know where you are, but we have a doctor's appt for 2:00pm this afternoon. Sam said his belly was hurting and both boys have bumps on their heads. I will call to let you know how it goes.

Break: At this point I am scared to death...but realize I have two messages left...so I continue on the with messages anxious for what will come next. I have added my thoughts in parentheses.

Call #5: Hey Scott, this is Ricky down at Plant Farley...How ya doing? (AGHHHHH, Hurry up) I was just calling to check on that Tech Spec package that was ahhhhh coming down here...Did you happen to know when that would be ahhh (PLEASE STOP TALKING, WHY WILL MY PHONE SYSTEM NOT LET ME DELETE THIS MESSAGE) approved. Anyway if you could just call me back, I should be here (OK, HANG UP)...but if I'm not here...I will be in bright and early tomorrow morning around (DO I EVEN CARE) 7 or 7:15, so you can call me then. (FINALLY, DELETE)

Call #6: Scott, this is Magan...the doctor says the boys are fine, we are playing at the park, call me when you get this and we can meet for supper.

So anyway...it was a very exciting 6 minutes listening to phone messages, but I guess Magan's day was a little more stressful. Maybe we can recreate the event later in pictures. :)

The Christmas Tree Corner

Sam and Davis love the Christmas Tree this year and Davis especially. He likes to climb behind the tree in the corner and just sit there in the window seal. Which is fine, but that is where the plug also is, and we have noticed sometimes the lights going off and on, and we have also noticed several pieces of ornaments that have been squished. So…Davis no longer gets to be in this corner, but still ends up there quite often. It is very difficult for Magan or I to get back to this area, so as Davis does making his way back to this favorite corner, we must tell him to get back out of there RIGHT NOW. This does not work…as he gives his cutest little pout face and stays put. He is just too cute, and you want to just squeeze him, but then we have to fight our way back into the corner to carry him off screaming.

You know something?

I used to joke around with Sam that I had a secret to tell him…He would said “What dada”, and I would come in very close and say “I love you”. I love you too dada, he would reply. It has developed into something similar that I still can not hear enough. I will now ask him “You know something”…He will look up at me with those pretty brown eyes concerned and ask “You love me??” I will say Yep, and then those eyes get bright and his smile just widens as he says “I love you too dada”. Sweet kid.

Zoolight Safari 2008

Well this year Colby, Mellissa, and Ben made the trip to the Zoolight with us. It was fairly warm during the day, so we decided it would not be too cold. It was Forty degrees and dropping when we got there at 5:15 pm, but we went in. The boys loved all of the lights, not even aware of others around us and they both scream “Momma Dadda LOOK at that one, LOOK at that other one”. The best part for little Davis was the Christmas lights set to music in the Childrens area. We were all standing around watching the lights when Davis walked towards the lights and found an empty bench. He crawled his little bottom up into that bench and started dancing with the music. When he realized we were not with him, he looked back (still swaying) and patted the seats next to him on the bench. Well…I guess we just had to join him. Sam and I got a kick out of petting all of the animals…even got to pet a groundhog. We ended with a ride on the Christmas Train, and we got the one that was apparently un-Christmas…its lights did not work and only Colby would sing “Silver Bells” in a falsetto voice to help lighten the mood. Anyway it was fun, and Davis even danced a little more as we passed the musical lights on the train. Too Cold…Home…after some Jim’n’Nicks BBQ first. This is a quick video of Davis going to sit and watch the lights. Look closely and you will see his left hand patting the seat.
