Sam's Birthday (8 Years Old)

My big boy is turning 8.  Crazy how quickly time has passed.  He was super excited as we had planned since December to have his party at the Southern Museum of Flight.  This is a fun museum that we have been to many times before, and now Sam was going to be the man of honor.

Navy airman Brian Burke was our tourguide today, and I think both children and adults was captivated at his stories of the museum.  Uncle Colby kept pushing Ben out of the way so he could get up front to listen to Mr. Brian.  The seat next to Mr. Brian was for Sam, but Belle informed him that she was his sister, and ... well she is hard to say no to.

Sam became the coolest guy at the party because only he was about to sit on the planes and in the helicopters.  You could tell that he was excited about this treat.  Sam is holding a sign in the helicopter that says "Entry Forbidden"...Well Not for the birthday boy, he got to explore a little in the helicopter.  And apparently it was hot in the hangar, as Davis had to let his back cool off in one of the pictures.  We then got to use the simulators...which was basically just a computer game with a joystick, but Sam was pretty good already because he had some training earlier before the party began.

Good Idea - Awesome Plane Models for all the kids at the party.  Bad Idea - Kids trying to put together all the Awesome Plane Models.  Resolution - Dads put together the Awesome Plane Models while kids eat.

Sam earned his wings and a patch for the Southern Museum of Flight.  I think this was Sam's best birthday party ever.   And Magan did a great job with decorating for this event.  Happy Birthday Sam, I hope I can always be your wingman (Should you be reading this sometime in the future, and have not seen Top Gun yet, I am highly recommending this movie to you).
