Another Fun Day with Thomas

Hard to believe, but this was year 6 for the day with Thomas in Calera.  And the yearly picture is provided above.  Before we headed over to Calera, Davis had a tball game, and guess what?  Granny came to watch, and he was very excited.  Davis had some really good slides as the Tigers challenged the mighty Cubs.  Two Innings of extreme baseball.

The trains are very fun, but Sam and Davis went a little crazy ringing the bell.  VERY LOUD.  We then enjoyed the petting zoo, where we got to hold the cute little bunnies.  Davis of course found his good friend billy goat.  Sam and Davis found the putt putt course twice...and Davis' stroke is pretty good but he scares everyone around because his practice swing is a full baseball swing.  :)  Me and Davis later went and hung out in the old rail car watching some Thomas stories while Sam dug in deep in the sand.  Magan also enjoyed hanging out by the sand pretending she was at the beach.  Our last attraction was the small steam engine ride.  Last year we got to ride on the very back, so this year, we rode the very front.  Woo Woo

They're two they're four they're six they're eight
Shunting trucks and hauling freight
red and green and brown and blue
they're the really useful crew

All with different roles to play
Round Tidmouth sheds or far away,
Down the hills and round the bends
Thomas and friends

Around the House

This was belle last weekend when she had a bacterial infection with a rash all over her body. It was so sad to see her like that, but she was just as cheerful as always. Jennifer Hasty brought he a new baby and that made her very happy.

Magan said that Davis and Belle played very well together while playing dress up the other day. Davis told Magan that it was just so cold in space, he needed his gloves and hat. I fell asleep while delaying putting Belle the bed the other night. Apparently she covered me up, and brought me a book and some toys...then I had to wake up to put her to bed.

And now I have a blog picture showing my kids looking through the blog books.

Davis and Baseball

Back to the ball fields...Here are some pictures from some of Davis' first ball games. He is really liking TBall, and loves running, hitting, and .... sliding. He's got a big swing, and hits it well, when he hits it...then that big batting helmet makes it where he can't seem to figure out where first base is after he hits it.

His first game playing shortstop, he decided he should go run after the ball hit to right field. As he ran across the baseline, he was in a collision with one of the other baserunners. He was shaken up a bit, but gave me the thumbs up. It's OK, in the next game while he slid into first base (yep, that's what I said) he took out the first baseman with his cleats. Davis is definately the more outgoing ball player so far...he waves to everyone, talks to the other coaches in the field, talks to the other players while their own base, and does a good job kicking the dirt while the ball is not rolling to him. I was able to catch one of his dive/slide/rolls, then his twirling of the bat on his way back to the dugout. He is a Goofball, but super fun to watch.

Night with the Barons

We try to visit the Barons at least once a year, and Magan had invited one of Sam's friends, Nathan, and one of Davis' friends, Tyler. This was a very fun idea, but then when I got in the van at my work where Magan picked me up, I started getting scared at this carload of crazy boys. We had a blast though, even trying to get them all to sit still at Chick-Fil-A right next to the play area, even trying to get them to sit through at least 2 innings of the ball game before running up to the inflatable play area, even trying to get them to calm down to eat the two funnel cakes covered with sugar. :) It WAS really fun. And I also realized that when a ball goes over your head, follow it, don't try to turn and look for it to hit the wall behind you, because by the time you find it again, it has already passed you missing your family by about 3 feet and hitting the guy sitting two rows down in the belly who was watching the ball exactly like you were doing.

Magan was super ready to take the boys down to meet the ball players. She told me that this guy was named Mitch. He is a pitcher for the Barons, and loves long walks on the beach, curling up next to a warm fire reading a Nicholas Sparks book, and ... Wait a minute...Hmmm...She's got some explaining to do...

Can you believe it? Babe Ruff was in the house. I think this all happened will I was waiting for the funnel cake man. And by the way, there was an old guy that broke in line in front of me because he saw there was only one pretzel left, and I think he thought I was going to get it. That was just bad form. I wasn't even eyeing the pretzel.
