This Saturday began with the "Shake and Bake 5K" run with my mom. Afterwards, Magan and I went out for a rare unplanned day. Basically we needed to take a Charter cable box back to Birmingham, so what first...we decided to hit the Target toy clearance at Brookwood (Dad: we did not tell you about this, but are still planning a toy intervention... :) ) . And after racking up on some Christmas items, I asked Magan if she was up for some "Hot and Ready" doughnuts. Unfortunately none at the Krispey Kreme were hot and ready, and it would be an hour before they would have some coming down the line...but we had nothing more for the day...so, we decided to get some coffee, milk and doughnuts to help tide us over until the doughnuts were ready. The wait was actually pretty great, and the kids loved it. They watched the full process of getting the doughnuts ready, and then through the massive machine. Then after patiently waiting, we all ate a dozen HOT right off the line.
So after this, I was still feeling some of the After-Vacation fairy dust (Perhaps this is just a feeling you get coming off of vacation before the credit card bill has come in yet), and we decided to hit the Build-a-Bear workshop in the galleria, as we had some coupons...we just had to use. With our coupons and gift cards, Belle's new Palace Pet "Berry" was stuffed with love for only $2. Sam and Davis got to build some legos, and give us nasty looks because they did not get a new stuffed animal. Such a fun day, glad we decided to go out.
