While Mom and Dad were in Nashville...

So while we were in Nashville, here is our crew clearly saddened that there Mom and Dad are not with them, and unhappy to have to spend some time with Granny, Granddaddy and cousins.  Magan and I may have to do this more often...like monthly.  :)  The kids had a great time though, and doesn't appear to be any problems while we are away.

Another Anniversary in Nashville

Another anniversary in Nashville, and a city quickly becoming our favorite.  This time we had two nights booked at the Opryland Hotel, tickets for the Grand Ole Opry, and plans to see Pitch Perfect 2.  What could go wrong?  A little of everything for "Old Lady Junkin".  Our first stop was supper at Macaroni Grill where we got WAY TOO much food.  I did not order well.  Magan was already starting to feel ill and after dinner about couldn't make it to the movie.  But we made it in the theater and got to our show where we found out they just let out the last show and had to clean up before letting us in.  Magan just fell to the floor for some rest.  And we also wanted to show that no kids with us, but our Disney bag is as big as it is with the kids...Pitch Perfect 2 was so acca-awesome, we laughed and laughed.

The next morning began with Magan, fever, swollen neck, feeling miserable.  Luckily there is an urgent care at the hotel where a Vanderbilt doctor was able to see Magan and immediately prescribe a bunch of medicine to add to her current supply of prescriptions.  But thankfully as the day went on, and she was able to rest for awhile, she starting feeling better.  I took a trip to the Spa to enjoy my rest there...experiencing stuff this country boy knows nothing about...sauna, steamroom...shower shoes.  After a nap, we enjoyed a slightly disappointing Mexican dinner in the hotel as we were expecting to get the great cheese dip we had had about 4 years ago.  But it was not the same.

The OPRY show was great.  We saw Jamey Johnson, Lorrie Morgan, Chris Janson, Mike Snider (funniest guy on the opry), Riders in the Sky, The Whites, and Exile ("I want to kiss you all over"...yeah, those guys, what were they doing here?).  Our clear favorite was new star Chris Janson.  He was great, sang "Buy me a Boat", then closed out his performance with a great version of Hank Sr's "Still in Love with You".  As they told us that night at the OPRY, "He is the one to watch".  Great Performer!

Did I mention we were on the 2nd row?  Boo Yah, love these seats, this was two rows closer than the last time we were here, and great for pictures.  I walked up in front of Lorrie Morgan, and she waved to me right before I took a picture of her singing "Lady in Red".  Look at the heels on her...and Jamey's guitar was really cool, looked like he had all sorts of signatures on it...like Willie's guitar "Trigger".  I was also greatly pleased to hear Jamey sing "Give it Away", that he wrote, and George Strait made famous.

Our wonderful vacation though finally came to an end, we left our balcony overlooking a waterfall, packed up, and headed out to church with plenty of time...then realized we forgot Magan's pillow.  We are the most forgetful people in the world...but we got it and made it...then came home to pick up the kids.

Frozen Fever

I don't think a girl could get more excited...Anabelle and Ruby got on their dresses to go see Anna and Elsa.  They met up with Marcia, Addy, and Stella, after waiting for a long time, not knowing where the other one was.  Then after meeting up with them finally, Magan realized she left the tickets in the car in the parking deck.  So after some delays, they finally got in the show to watch Frozen on Ice.  I wish I could have been there, but I know from the big smiles when I got home that day, that they had fun.

Little bit of everything

So starting from Easter...here are some pics of a little bit of everything going on in our lives over the last month.

After our cookout in the backyard, I got a little scared when I saw a large amount of blood running out of Sam's head, then realized it was ketchup.  Sam, I still have no idea how the ketchup got on your head.

Sam did an awesome job presenting some "time capsule" information from the 1960's as part of his GRC class.  He showed some information on John F. Kennedy, some Beach Boy and Andy Griffith records, and some silver coins (Thanks Granddaddy for all the help).

Sam won!

Davis was awarded the spirit stick...now we get to keep it all summer long.
