Davis' Birthday Celebration

After seeing his brother get to hang out in some cool helicopters for his birthday a couple of years ago, Davis decided this year he wanted to also have a party at the Southern Museum of Flight.  We had a great time, and Davis loved that he got to get into more helicopters than Sam.  He is also the funniest kid to watch open presents.  I have NEVER seen a kid read each card and be so appreciative of the gifts.  I mean great attributes, but I think that is his Momma in him.  In looking back at these pictures I am so happy to see him with so many smiles as he turned double digits 10.  We had a celebration supper a few nights later at Mt. Fuji, and our crazy sushi lover got his own California roll.  Davis got to fly a mini drone at the museum, and guess what was his first purchase with his birthday money...Happy Birthday Big D...DayDay...My buddy Dave.

Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi night, and I rushed home from Savannah, GA that day to be with my beautiful bride for this event.  We had the same tickets that we had for the Garth show, but this one was a little different.  JBJ only came around to the back of the stage once, and seemed to want us to hear a lot of his new stuff...newsflash...we are here for the "Slippery When Wet" tour, yeah, we missed it the first time.  And anything from the "Crossroads" hit album would also be nice.  He hit most, but we missed many of his ballads.  Sambora was not touring with him, so maybe he couldn't hit some of the old songs anymore w/o some backup.

Anyway, a great night.  We had an excellent dinner at Newks, and met several people living the past with us at the concert.  Rushed out at end like the old folks we are to race back to the car and beat traffic.  Not the best concert, but loved being there with Magan.  And of course she got the point and wave from JBJ...in picture at bottom.  Pictures from the front of stage are stock photos...we mainly got to see the drummer, and a bongo playing dancing dude that was very active.  Lots of cool images from behind into the crowd tho...

Facebook post...
So thanks to the cool bumper sticker from Lisa Ann, and a quick look around the house today after our Bon Jovi night out...I was inspired to tweak "Wanted Dead or Alive" just a bit. :) And she is still soooooooo Cool!

It’s all the same, only the rooms will change
Everyday, it seems they’re filled with laundry
A smiling face, and a supper rarely cold...
I work all day, while she works at home

[Chorus]
Cause she’s a Hot Mom, with 4 kids she rides
In a minivan that reads “She used to be Cool”
Minivan
Used to be Cool

Sometimes she sleeps, sometimes it’s not for days
The faces she feeds, go and play their separate ways
Sometimes I tell the day
By the dishes in the sink
What did she do all day, Is NEVER what I think

[Chorus]

She’s on her feet, a loaded camera on her side
Always snapping pictures, for people far and wide
She’s been everywhere, busy spring and fall
Lots of smiling faces, and she’s caught them all

Cause she’s a Hot Mom, with 4 kids she rides
In a minivan that reads “She Used to be Cool”
Hot mom, Photography on the side
In a minivan
says She Used to be Cool
She Used to be Cool
Used to be Cool
Well she’s still soooo Cool…
To cool for school

Beginning the Year...

Just some random moments in our house as we begin 2017. Legos are always popular, and Nano blocks (miniature legos) are even more cool at the moment.  Davis got a new cookbook, and him and Sam immediately got busy with some really good desserts.  We actually got a little snow in Alabama, and enjoyed it for a day.  The 1st and 4th graders both had a singing presentation at school.  Belle delivered her line perfectly, and Davis had some good expressions and I wish we could have caught him yawning during the singing...he saw us catch him, and gave a good laugh.  The last picture is a sweet sticky note, Davis put on his mom while she was sick, "I hope you don't feel like poop".
