October still thinks it's Summer

The University of Alabama had their Fall break, so it was nice to have Sam at the house for more than 2 nights.   He is Mr. Popular when he comes home, and all sit and take turns to talk to him.   Then everyone gathers around to give him hugs before he leaves.  I got to play frisbee golf with him at Veterans Park where I played one of my better games, scoring a 58 on a course where my best ever was a 55.   Sam scored a ridiculous 52 on that day.   A fun day where I think we were the only ones playing disc golf, but there was a crazy 3 day running event there, where people were actually running over 100 miles.   Ruby and I were happy to have Sam join us for Clue, and when we did not have all the pieces for Sorry, he just went and 3D printed the pieces we needed.

Magan and Belle went to the Taylor Swift concert movie, which I was told was quite expensive, but I think they had a good time.  They said, and there is a picture below, that the theater was empty.   They both did not seem very impressed...BUT...based on the recent swing of the pandora station playing in the kitchen, I am hearing taylor swift singing alot.   So I think they were subliminally brain washed into the Swiftie clan.

Lots of homecoming week dress up days below.   Ruby had a field trip to the Calera train station where they rode out to the pumpkin patch and got to bring one back and paint it.   Davis had a field trip to Royal auto service station, and had a good time.   He is loving CTEC, and working on brakes right now.  I had a field trip to Plant Vogtle, and saw my friend Stacy on the side of the road after hitting a deer.   More dunkin donuts, more front porch pics, Magan's visit to the winery for Leslie's birthday for fancy meat/cheese trays (the answer is NO), Ruby went to a puppy dog dress up show, a visit with Marcus and Emily, and a broken AC unit which should not be a problem in October, but it is still 80 degrees in our house!

Halloween Nights

The AHG girls decorated their trunk this year themed "Daughters of the King" and they did an awesome job building our trunk. They made bubble wands for the kids and pipe cleaner crowns and our dragon shot the candy into their bucket through his fiery mouth.   It was a fun event at Mount Laurel again this year, but I felt bad because I did not get to walk around with Ruby, thinking that she was going to go around with Claire.   Anyway, she did get one round, and after Ruby left with Claire, Magan and I went around with Belle...and Belle will remember that when you travel around with mom...you just wait at each booth while Mom talks.

On Halloween night we went over to the Rawls for some Chili, then to trick or treat in their neighborhood.  I don't know how much longer this excitement will last, but I was glad to be out there with Ruby, and glad to drive her to a few more homes after the other friends got too tired.   The trading of the candy is always fun to watch, and apparently snickers can come to me...but never airheads.   Ruby also bragged about the one house that gave full candy bars out.
