Sam Field Trip

So Magan got to go on this trip to Montgomery with Sam.  And I don't know any of the stories.  But here are the pictures.  The short blonde guy is Sam's best bud Trey, and after meeting trey at Sam's Birthday party, he is a really funny guy.  They get along really well.  The picture with the garbage can was thanks to Magan for telling them how cool it was to be that close to the "Governer's garbage".  Sam and Trey cracked up at this and just had to have a picture.

Davis' Field Trip

Another field trip to the Zoo.  This time Aunt Katie and Wyatt were able to join up with Magan.  Davis had a great time, but from Katie and Magan, I hear that the zoo was pretty crowded.

Easter

Another fun Easter morning.  The Easter Bunny did not hide the baskets this year, but he left a trail of jelly beans and M&Ms leading to each basket...with some directions on whose trail was whose.  Dad had some Benadryl the night before, and could not function this morning.  Kids hid eggs all afternoon, which was great for a much needed parent nap.

Spring Break Weekend II - Lego Discovery Center

And our last day before heading home, I thought we could go to the Coca-Cola museum or the Fernbank museum of natural history.  Magan gave both of these a nonverbal face of disapproval.  She then suggest the Lego Discovery Center.  Being a Saturday, and remembering how crowded this place was last time we went, I was hesitant and really leaning more towards Fernbank.  And I remembered the kids really liked the dinosaurs at the fernbank also, so we decided to let the Kids decide.  I gave them the options, beginning with the Coca-Cola museum.  This was already mentioned to them, so they smiled and liked that option.  I then mentioned Fernbank, and they showed confused faces, after helping them remember, they smiled a little bigger.  Then when I mentioned the Lego Discovery Center, I think something in their brain just went into overload, and they completely forgot that there were any options because in their minds I had erased all other options as soon as I said Lego.  So thanks to our sweet mom, and her idea, the kids had another super fun day, and got a great surprise for our last day on vacation.

And before I get to the pictures...a few Belle-isms that make us smile
  • She says "Huh Huh" to mean yes...instead of "ahuh"
  • She says "Fravorite" instead of favorite
  • She says "Girl Cheese" instead of grilled cheese.  No wonder she thinks she has to have this at restaurants, yet never seems to eat it.

Belle was so happy to show us mini-stone mountain.  She just had to have a picture.  And the boys got to go into the Master Builder workshop.  Sam came out very excited that he learned how to make a sphere.  Davis came out saying I will never share a table with Sam again in there.  Sam needs some work on his teamwork skills.  Belle, meanwhile, sang "Everything is Awesome" on the karaoke machine.

Magan and Ruby just shopped in the mall while I watched the other 3.  We rode all the rides, built many cars, watched three of the four movies, ate lunch, then 4 hours later...I was finally able to drag them out into the store.  All got to pick a small prize, and we met back up with Magan and headed home.  Another great day, and wonderful end to our spring break.

Spring Break Weekend II - Stone Mountain

And the next day back at one of our favorite places to go...Stone Mountain Park.  We set up camp at the Residence Inn in Gwinnett County, GA, which was only about a 20 minute drive the next morning to the park.  And Magan and I had one of those perfectly planned days that just worked out everywhere we went.  Pretty awesome.  We got into the "Skyhike" first thing, and were the 6th ones in line...the rest of the day, this was an hour wait.  We then went over to take the trolley (??) to the top of the mountain, no line.   Later ate lunch, and jumped on the train...no line, and walked up to the 4 D movie theater...NO WAIT.  Beautiful day also.

While me and the boys were climbing around on the skyhike, we got to look over and see this cute little Ruby face, as her and Belle were playing on the smaller kids area.

On the top of the mountain, right after the picture of the kids together, Davis sneezed, and no lie, a 4 inch snot trail came out and clung to his nose.  He was dramatically trying to get a tissue, so Magan and I just tried to catch this for the blog.  Aggravated, but maybe one day he will think it was as funny as I did.

Sam is the only one of us that went all the way to the fence.  I stayed way back, and had to even zoom in to get him at the fence.  Just this close, my toes were curled up almost as tight as my butt cheeks.  Man, my stomach is tight right now just thinking about standing here.  I hate heights.

This was our first time to play the putt putt course, and I have learned that this is no longer fun for a 35 year old.  Kids, be happy for anytime you were getting to play putt putt, as this is really not something your mom or dad really want to do.  :)  Now if they could go back to old school putt putt where geometry and skill could be used, I am all on board, but alas a game of true skill was abandoned in favor of a mindless string of holes decorated with a theme and spotted with obstacles that aren't even used in any way to assist with skill.  Kids had fun tho!  Sam and I got one hole and one.  Davis had one that he had to show me how close he got.

After ice cream, we hit the great big barn, which has to be about the coolest play area for kids that I have ever seen, then the splash area.  Great fun day.  Used the GPS to get us to a PaPaJohns on the way back to the hotel.
