Losing our Brother Dave

A Facebook post, but wanted to keep it here as well...Just walking through some memories of Honduras, and remembering Brother Dave Long...He was the one to watch there, and see how we are to care and love all people. Of course, he was a constant source of encouragement for us in Chelsea, but he was the same and even more for our family in Honduras. All of our friends and family there are grieving with us, and in prayers for Gina and family.

My favorite Dave stories from Honduras was his wise words about the blessings of God being amplified when we were down there, speaking about the shade and breeze that we take for granted here. I will never forget "sharing leg space" with Dave in the truck traveling the bumpy roads to a school one day, our legs squished together as only those of us that have crammed 20 people in the back of a truck can laugh about. And in the middle of the Miami airport about 11:30 at night while we were all delirious watching some guy on the TV telling us about the events of the day...Dave looked up at that guy and said "Well that is about the ugliest person I have ever seen" cracking us all up. Kendall later referred to this as what happens when you have "Elders after Dark".
I felt Dave with us in many activities this year. And he was excited to ask about everyone down there, and how everything went. I will miss my brother Dave, and wanted to share some of the smiles and pictures from our adventures in Honduras.
