August is always one of the most busy months in my opinion...getting back to school, getting back to AHG, getting back to the busy days where everyone needs a form and everyone needs money. There are those last days of smiles before school begins, then the faces that turn to being overwhelmed once everything begins. But it was a full month, and while I slowly felt the normal stress start increasing, there were a lot of fun and wonderful moments throughout the month.
The Cozy Crochet team of Ruby, Claire, and Kaleigh had their last Chelsea Market Day, and it was hot. I stayed with them on the setup, but Magan had the heat with the girls for the majority of the day. Ruby did very well, and made some good cash for all of her hard work.
There was another Breakout room with Kaleigh. More Lessons with Mayberry where we all laughed to see Otis becoming a deputy. There was a random Buccees lunch with Deidra and Andrew. Lots of splashing in the pool with church friends. I got another fun time with Ruby at Chuck E Cheese, and we are up to almost 2000 points, this time joined by Davis who was already in the area when we were there. A fun family trip to the movies to see Spiderman, then just Magan and Davis sneaking away to watch Odyssey. A quick dinner and visit at Tanya and Joes house, excited to show the kids the museum they have inside their house. A fun time with Colby and family when he came to Chelsea to speak in our Summer Series (I had a little fun introducing him, but he was an amazing speaker sharing a great bible lesson). We ate some BBQ celebrating Peyton Long and his upcoming wedding, knowing our dear brother Dave would be so happy and the young lady he found. Magan building some shelves with Jasper and Jude to help Nanny organize downstairs. Another small group meeting at the house, where we had the most amazing pot luck I have eaten in a log time (major props to Ginger Street for the most amazing corn on the cob ever).
Magan signed Ruby up for an Uno tournament at the Chelsea Library, and she ended up in the final table. And while she did not win the first hand and first place, she did win second. She was excited to get her $10 gift card to Dairy Queen.
