October Days...

So what else was going on during the month of October?   The AHG girls helped out during the Harvest Carnival at the new charter church.   Magan held a special awards ceremony at McDonalds for her 4-6 grade class and all the memory work they had accomplished.   Magan and Deidra went to the Harry Potter movie with a live symphony playing at the BJCC concert hall.   Sam took Noel to Atrox, to scare her to death (Sorry Noel!).   Davis kept up his Crimson Chaos points visiting with the Bama basketball team and getting to shoot on the court.

Noel took over for Davis at the Parking Crew, while he got strep throat and did not even get to go to the Tennessee game.   While Davis did some adulting that Saturday night taking himself to urgent care for some shots in the butt, Sam and Noel felt the stadium shake to see the 99 yard Pick 6 at the end of the 1st Half of the ballgame.   There may have been cigars at this third saturday in October, but there was definately cigar smoke that filled the stadium bowl.   Ruby sold her first jewelry to Ms. Denise at church.   Magan finished her finger therapy.

Belle had her Fall concert where she had a long solo singing a very soulful song with a beautiful voice.   It has thousands of views on Facebook, and that is just me and Magan.   Ruby saved up for the Culver turtle.   There were some halloween parties at Tuscaloosa.   Ruby showing off her new earring line of jewelry.   My new "Little" Antonio playing chess with me at the Big Brother Big Sister event.   And Magan with the AHG leaders hiking to Peavine Falls, to find not even a trickle.

It is easy to think about what all I want to do one day when I retire, or what all we could be doing if we had this or that...but the key question is What did you do?   And every day is an adventure, and every day has joys to explore.   I just hope I can stay in that mindset.   I told Magan the other day that I really love where we are at right now, but one day, we will sit and watch streaming channels with no commercials.   And when that day comes, that's when we will know that we have made it.

Halloween

And one more fun night to dress up...with our visit to the Rawls house for the official trick or treating.   The Rawls cooked some Chili, and Magan brought some potato soup.   There were pumpkins being carved with the older kids, while the ever decreasing number of little ones pestered us finishing out meals that it was time to go out to get candy.   We hit all the normal houses, then as everyone else went inside, I knew Ruby wanted the one last hill of houses, so we scored a little more extra candy.   While Ruby may not have been recognized as Lafayette, I did her one lady exclaim "Wow, you are a cool historical figure".   I feel our Halloween door to door visits are on their last legs, but I will keep going up and down whatever hills Ruby will take me on...as behind some of those doors, are those little butter finger pieces.
