M is for the Many Things She Gave Us...Happy Mother's Day

It was a good Mother's Day this year, but admittedly a little sad, as probably the first one for Magan without seeing Sam.   I think both of us kept expecting him to show up at the door, but this was crunch time for the wedding, and apparently his mother had already moved down the list of people to see.   But on the way to church, we kept the Mother's Day tradition song (handed down from Granddaddy) about the Many, Other, Things, Happy, Every, Rest of the things she gave us...and when we put it all together, we got MOTHER.

After church, we kept (or returned after a break last year) to the traditional Captain Ds lunch in Calera.   At this point, I can't remember why this started, but now it is really the one time a year we have this meal.   Luckily, we had the coupons this time, so it was not too bad...but similar to every trip, it takes forever to get your food here.   And they are struggling in the back to get the right food to the right people.   But I assume many of those ladies behind the counter were mothers, and while I watched many other customers complain, I just patiently waited for the seafood feast that finally arrived.

Afterwards, the girls all convinced me that the Mother's day celebration should also include 7 Brew, which is slowly hitting my CC pretty hard with all the other "celebrating" that the girls find for reasons to visit.   It was a good day of rest, but I think we ended this day all in Columbiana playing pickleball.  It appears that we did make it to see Nanny, and I think flowers were sent to Granny and MawMaw...so I guess I can't say anything to Sammy about not seeing his momma.   But we were happy to be there with our Mom, and always thankful for the Many, Other, Things, Happy, Every, Rest of the things she gave us...
