Down at the Fishing Hole

Davis is our fisherman, and every once and awhile he convinces us all to go with him.  Recently we hit some new fishing holes after coming up empty at our neighborhood "lake", we visited the lake near Mr. and Mrs. Polks house, which is really just like a massive resort area, then visited the duck pond where I caught my massive fish in the picture below.  And on another day we visited the Speer's house where Baker joined us for a little bit.

At the Polk's place I actually kept up with Davis, and we caught the same number, even though his were much bigger.  Sam laughed as I caught one at the duck pond, and said here you reel it in for me buddy.  haha...But after many many casts, Sam finally pulled out a couple of fish at the Speer's.  And the last part of the fishing merit badge was preping it to cook and cooking it.  Davis had already earned that badge, and their dad is a complete wimp on this stuff, so Davis helped Sam clean and prep it, and they went outside at the house and cooked it on the camp stove.  Davis tried it, but Sam did not...that was not part of the requirement.  Now both have the fishing merit badge.  And this was also our first time with the live unrefridgerated worms from walmart...with neon green guts...weird, just weird...don't know how long those guys live, but glad we could feed a few fish.
