AHG Bonfire

I worked with our Explorer girls to plan the Bonfire this year, and we had an excellent time.  We decided to mix up the smores, and have a craziest smore contest, where you could make smores with peeps, skittles, jelly beans, Reece's cups, and the normal stuff too.  While it did not win the smore contest, judged by the Explorers, I felt like the Ukrainian support smore made with yellow and blue peeps made by Anabelle Lewis was the best.

From Facebook Post..."We had another great bonfire at the Lewis ranch!  Glad so many were able to come!  Big thanks to the explorers for planning, organizing and mcing the event.  Props to bella for bringing the dad joke baby bottle (Did you know that humans eat more bananas than monkeys?  Its true.  i mean when was the last time you ate a monkey).  I hope all the girls and siblings dont have stomach aches because that was A LOT of sugar consumption."

From Explorer Scribe Evie Lewis..."The American Heritage Girls troop AL1720 Bonfire is a fun annual event. Not only the girls from our troop, but all AHG families attend. This year we had fun skits led by the Explorers and PiPa's. We also had a competition for the craziest SMORES! We concluded with singing our State Song and telling Dad jokes. Can't wait until next year!"

Since the Tenderheart leader was not able to make it, I got to work with Ruby and her friends as we did the squirrel patrol skit.  I later felt sad for poor Ru, she did not get to pull a parent up to the front because Magan was unable to make it.  But she found Mrs. Robbie...and that was ok, but I could tell she was a little sad that Mom was not with us.

Sarah Beth wrote a fully skit for the explorers, which they all performed as different Disney princesses.  And hearing all the girls take turns reading dad jokes was rather funny.  Or at least this dad thought they were funny.  Always a fun event, and always hard to get any pictures because it is so dark.
