Super Bowl Youth Event

Last year we went bowling before our Super Bowl watch party at the Kolbs, and after a class vote one morning, mainly the boys picked ChuckECheese over an Escape Room.   After hearing the groans of the ladies, I wanted to go with the popular vote, but broaden it to something more people might enjoy when I remembered BumperNets in the galleria.   I called and they had a great group rate, and by placing this in a shopping mecca with a huge food court compared to stinky kids and moldy pizza, I think I found a winner that may hang around in our rotation.   We had access to three rooms on that end of the gallera, with skeeball, pinball, arcades, ping pong, pool, and a mess of other activities to keep us busy for 1.5 hours.

The food court is wide open, except for ChickFilA (this is a Sunday), but just like happens with our family, this entire group was sucked in by the free pieces of bourbon chicken and teriyaki chicken, so that I think the whole group ate at Suki Hana or the Chinese place right beside.   After we ate, the girls went on a mad dash for shopping before our 2PM BumperNets appt, and the boys went down to boxed lunch and the new reused toy store.   I know the guys did some mall ratting around also, because I later saw them walking upstairs passing me after I purchased a coffee to wake me up during my normal nap time.

BumperNets was a hit with everyone, at least if you are judging from the smiles I was seeing on and off camera.   They gave us unlimited quarters for all the machines, and I hit mainly pinball.   And my favorite was the halloween machine I got in the back of one of the pics below.   It had three levels to get to...I don't know...Michael Myers coming out and killing you, but I could only make it to the 2nd level.   The owner of the store told me you had to really get a perfect shot to get to the third level.   Maybe next time.   I got to play some basketball with Anabelle (Cohen was the master of this game), and play some Halo with Grant (my current mentee), and play a full game of Ping Pong with Davis.

After the galleria, we made our way back to church, then over to the Kolbs for the Super Bowl watch party.   This was the year of the Philidelphia mayor infamously shouting for the city to go cheer on the Eagles, but going viral by spelling out "E L G L E S" to a very confused crowd.   Mr. Brandon shared that cheer with his name tag that night.   There were a few games going downstairs a the Kolbs that night, but I think most were gamed out, as the ones watching the game were larger on the couch than usual.   There was also a cookie cake that the guy at Winn Dixie didn't know how to ice, so he gave it to Ava with a hole to big, so she basically just added a glob of icing to the top.   It was another fun day all together, the parents enjoyed hanging out upstairs while the youth isolated down.
