SkillsUSA Nationals

From Davis Facebook Post:  Had a great Time at NLSC 2025 (National SkillsUSA competition)! Though we didn’t win, it was a ton of fun exploring Atlanta and hanging out with friends!!!

Davis just keeps having the best year ever, and it is a joy to watch that boy just be successful in all he is doing.   This trip was taken care of by the CTEC school after him and his two buddies placed 1st in State.   Davis immediately sent us a picture of the pool at his hotel, and knowing him was probably doing cannon balls shortly afterwards.   He told me that they purchased scooter passes with the local scooters there and around Atlanta, and cruised all around.   They had pretty good meals every day. and explored the SkillsUSA competition floors that he said spanned across like 50 football fields through the Atlanta Convention Center.

And his teacher, Mr. Irwin, saw that one day they had nothing else on the schedule after their competition around noon that day, so when Davis grabbed them an Uber, all four of the CTEC mechanical team and teacher went to Six Flags for the day.   Davis was able to get Logan in for free, but not the other two.   They all had a great time, and Davis said he was basically their tour guide leading them around the park, where they never had more than like a 10 minute wait.

Like any conference, Davis came home with huge bags of swag.   New collector pins, new shirts, a new hat, and plenty of fun times.   I think the final ceremony was in the Atlanta Hawks arena, and that was cool.   But I guess for any details on this trip, we will have to hope the pictures help him remember to share the stories later.   Glad he had a good time!
