Chattanooga Day 2 - HighPoint Climbing

Wow, it seems like we were at Highpoint climbing all day, but this was just the first of our day.  We went to Highpoint when it opened that morning, and while we all loved it, we all left with lots of blisters.  I was mainly there hooking up and hooking off Ruby, who liked to climb to the first foothold, then say "I too scared".  She was pretty cute tho in her little climbing gear.  She also loved climbing on the free climb wall, often leaning her head way back smiling.

Anabelle did well, but was too scared to get to the top of any of the walls...but she kept pushing herself higher and higher.  We left at lunch to go to Mellow Mushroom, then traveled up to Rock City, but that night we went back to Highpoint for an hour of climbing, and Anabelle had overcome all of her fears...she climbed all the way to the top of a couple of the walls.  I was so proud, but did not bring my camera that night.

Sam climbed well, and was the most technical forcing himself to only use one color in climbing the walls, so while he was a little slower, he actually mastered the wall as it was instructed to us by the highpoint instructor.

Now Davis has always been a monkey, and Highpoint further showed evidence of this.  He does not use the color technique, but he can climb fast.  There was not one of those walls that he could not climb, one that I could not even get higher than about 5 foot off the ground...yeah, he made it to the top.

And I loved this place, but found on the outdoor climbs about 60 feet in the air, that even if strapped in, my heart starts racing at that height.  And mom, we caught her in one picture near the end, she held all our bags and was the photographer for this event.

Chattanooga Day 1 - Driving Up

The drive up to Chattanooga almost always contains pictures of this Tennessee Welcome Center, as it has been sprinkled into mine and Magan's life together for about 20 years.  It is the one Rest Area that almost hurts my heart not to stop at...and rarely do I pass by...but when I do, I always have memories...and always thankful for that beautiful brown eyed girl that decided to go on a vacation with me.  The vacation has never ended.

At the hotel, we went swimming for a while, and then had dinner at a restaurant across from the hotel.  But probably the more fun for the kids was the Ben and Jerry's ice cream afterwards.  And can you guess what brochure was Ruby's favorite from this trip and one she pointed out EVERYWHERE.

Marching Around the House

Few Stories and memories around the house lately:
- Ruby was riding in her seat to pre-school, and noticing the sunshine on her for most of the trip, she smiled and told her mom "Mom, the sun is following me!"
- One of the last of these pictures is of Belle sitting in the front seat with me in my Explorer.  She never gets to ride up there, but we went to pick up a basketball goal for the boys and a bicycle for her, and there was no room in the back.  So I told her she could ride up front, we just wouldn't tell her mom.  Then I looked over and she looked so cute, I took her picture and texted it to Magan.  She looked at me and said "Oh no, Mom will get mad".  I completely forgot that it would upset Magan, so I was like "OH NO".  Then Belle starting giggling so much, when I got an immediate text back.  I was driving so I thru the phone over to her, and listened as she half spoke half giggled Magan's response "WHY!!! is she in the front seat??? She's too little".  Then in an act of betrayal, she texted her mom back "Dad did it".  She just kept laughing as her mom replied "ok", then she let her know she was buckled up and relayed my question about if we needed to bring any "souper" home.  Anabelle, if I could have that giggle bottled up, it would be priceless.  I still see that little smile and hear that giggle, and hope these words help me hold onto it forever.
- Pictures below show Valentines day boxes, Davis' field trip to American Village, Quick trip to Freddy's, Ruby's first puzzle, Anabelle dressed up as Cindy Loo Hoo,  eye makeup, date night, and some ruby daddy days.
