Of course, when you are camping in Huntsville, it is a requirement to visit the Space and Rocket Center. So we all packed up from camp that morning after breakfast to arrive at the space center by 9:30AM. Everyone made it ok, except for Brent, but I think after a few texts and phone calls, he was finally about to join up. I always get a little nervous planning groups for things like this, but it worked out and we even got a group shot. Albeit the guy (he had long pink hair, but I think this pronoun is correct) taking the picture forgot to pano up to actually show the giant rocket engines above us. We should have left Magan or Jimmy to take the picture.
Some memories of the time at the space center...Jimmy getting stuck with the NASA scientist...Belle and Ruby riding the Gforce, and loving it...The Smithermans coming off the Gforce looking ghost white, and leaving shortly afterwards...Melanie opening up some tuna for lunch, wow, that stuff is pungent...slow video moon walking/jumping on the moon exhibit...and a required stop for coffee on the way back to camp for Mrs. Princess Magan. It was fun, but they were doing ALOT of construction, so the spaceshot was down, all of the younger kid play area was gone, the climbing wall was gone, and even the mock space shuttle display was being refurbished. So, I think all had fun, but it definitely was missing some key ingredients to a super fun museum visit. We paid our respects to the space monkey grave before leaving, and Jimmy told us that when he was a kid, he got to see the actual space monkey.
