So the goal of this morning was to sleep in and enjoy some rest, but at 9:15AM, I heard a little knock on our hotel room door, and I stumbled over to look thru the door and see the cute little Ruby face. Opening the door, she told me she was hungry, so I stumbled over to get my shoes, and me and Ru headed up to the Concierge area for breakfast. Usually the selection is pretty limited, but I was satisfied with some eggs, toast and sausage.
Everyone started slowly coming up for breakfast, but we just made a plate for Mom cause she don't wear pants. Davis enjoyed the honeycomb, which was very unique. And we all sat around the breakfast table telling puke stories, since Sam was our subject for the conversation. Later while waiting for Mom and Sam to get ready, we were able to dry all of our towels in the dryer and get ready for our day at White Water.
We were getting to the park late, but I was not too worried, as I had again splurged and bought flashpasses for our day here. And these passes were amazing! Letting us get in line for all the rides on our watch, and not have to stand next to the BO lines. We completely skipped many 45 minute lines, and it appears that we were the only ones to buy these passes, as we just walked to the front of almost everything. Flashpasses also seemed to surprise the Six Flags workers that had to first figure out how to scan them, then figure out how the line worked in front of them, when they had not been watching who came through. But thus is Six Flags...On one ride, the girl just told us to go up there and get ahead of those people...which is easy to say, but people don't seem excited for you to just step in front of them. Fortunately, there were only a couple of rides like that, so the others had a little more control.
Everyone stayed together as we rode the Typhoon Twister, then the Python Plunge first where we had a locker. Then we rode the Run-A-Way River, which was great in dark, but made Magan sick. And after a short break, we rode Tornado, which I think was the coolest ride and most fun. Also Ruby's favorite, but Magan seems to scream to where the whole park can hear here, and wants to have a conversation with the person running the ride about whether or not she will die on the ride. She is borderline ridiculous on these rides, but fun to laugh at...with. We then rode the Bahama Bob family slide which we can pass next time (altho it was fun watching one lady trying to move a raft with 6 people in it). And followed that to the Wahoo Racers. One last ride on the Tornado before Sam and Noel left our group.
We kept riding all day long, as Mom stopped to take a rest back near our locker area. She also told us she slept in lazy river for about 30 minutes. Davis almost hurt his back again on one of the tube slides. And while I was checking on Magan one time, I looked behind her and saw one of the NRC inspectors that often comes to our sites for cyber, William Monk. Very random encounter, but both of us are geeks, so we talked about cyber inspections and boy scouts for about 10 minutes, then decided we better get back to our families.
Some random memories include disappointment at some parents for letting there little boy wear a speedo...The kids passing me around like a basketball in the lazy river while I was up on my float...Some kids pushing their grandma under the waterfall in the lazy river, then leaving here...A family that forgot their baby in this waterfall area as they continued around...And a Six Flags guys badge getting stuck in Ruby's hair and almost coming down the Typhoon Twister with us.
Both of these water parks in Atlanta are great, this one definitely has some cool rides. But with these cool rides, are some long walks to get from slide to slide. And with those long walks came so much foot pain. I mean my feet ached with every step. My feet were cramping while we sat at Cracker Barrell later that night, and my feet still hurt days later. Those little water shoes just dont do anything. My feet were doing a happy dance when we left as I had my Brooks shoes on. Ruby's little water shoes just went in the trash as we were leaving as the bottom was actually completely coming apart. Davis was proud of himself, just going barefoot all day...and as he bragged about it not being a problem, he stomped right onto a rock. After a scream of pain, he finally said "Man, that hurt", then not 2 steps later he hit one more big rock! We laughed cause that is funny karma.
Noel and Sam were the first back in regular clothes, and all were excited to leave for dinner. Noel is getting used to this Junkin plan where you eat before and after, but don't waste time or money eating in the park. When we finally got to Cracker Barrell, we feasted. Extra food and pancakes was ordered, and we all ate till very full. But at this point it was about 9PM, and we were still in North Atlanta, with a long way to go. Magan wanted me to grab the one pic below as probably the first time ever that she was the first one out of a cracker barrell, ready to be home. After a quick bathroom visit, I surprised Ruby with a stuffed Goat that she was loving on in the CB store. And his name is Jarod, and he is still on the bed for now. I think we got home around midnight.
