The Chelsea Big Kaboom had been on the previous weekend, and I am not one to invite people over and grill, but since Davis was around, we asked him to help us as the grillmaster, while we invited the Rawls and Baileys over to celebrate 249 years of being a country. Davis did awesome as usual, and cooked us Dale's Sauce Hamburgers, some sort of Lemon Garlic Chicken, some Conecuh sausage, and a few hot dogs. Everyone brought over some sides, and we had a great time hanging out and chatting with friends. The Rawls even brought home made ice cream, which made it an official gathering.
After the Baileys left, we played a game of "papers", which seems to always be started by Ruby. Then we decided it was time to finish up the party, but the kids were wanting to shoot fireworks and eat smores, so we grabbed all of our fireworks, and went to the Rawls for smores. I think all the kids got to catch one of the parachute fireworks, which are easily the best. We rolled smoke bombs down the driveway, we shot some firecrackers that somehow almost hit me in the leg, and listened to Belle and Linley sing the star spangled banner while the neighbors much larger fireworks show went off. Happy Birthday Murica!
