Finally a "Big Kaboom" with no rain. And I think the first picture tells the whole story...Happy Birthday America. We had a great time meeting up with friends from church, Francis' and Deans. Magan and girls waited at least an hour for those balloon animals...it started as a facepaint line. Magan was excited that I "traveled" far over to the Subway for her fountain coke. It is always a good time, and our Mayor Picklesimer even was singing "Sweet Home Alabama" at the end. I probably should have gotten some pics of fireworks, but just trust me, it was a big kaboom. Had some good food here, and we got one of the super big stuffed cookies from Ts.

Camp Journey
Davis submitted an application to be a part of this Sheriff's office camp during the summer. He got all of this recommendations in and was selected to come. This camp was all day long for one week, and they talked about peer pressures, leadership training, and the roles and responsibilities of the local police force. I asked Davis what he wanted to remember from this week..."I watched a helicopter land"..."I know a lot of the sheriff's in the area"..."I got to see a police boat". I was glad he had this opportunity, and he seemed excited each day.

Happy Number 80 to a Wonderful Lady
Happy Birthday to Maw Maw! We had a great weekend with the family spending the night at Granny's in preparation for a really fun birthday celebration. Friday night Magan and I stayed at Granny's but all the kids stayed with Katie and Mark...and they had a massive crew watching the Black Panther. Fun getting to see all the family rarely seen anymore.
And I love the picture Katie caught of me and my bride smiling. Weird that those scenes are so frequent, yet rarely captured. That has been my goal in life is to make one pretty lady smile, and when she does, it is all I need. Probably is that now I have two other gals with competing smiles...love each one.
At engle park with the kids while Magan was prepping for the party, the kids had a blast on this really cool playground. And I also ran into an old college buddy, Julie Butler. Really neat to catch up with her for a bit. After the park, I took the kids to mcdonalds for some ice cream. Everyone had some really good milkstaches.
At MawMaw's party, we had a great time visiting with random Aunt Sue's or Neighbor Billy's. We made a love quilt for Maw Maw with messages. And then shared our presents with her and Granddaddy.
