February Days

February Book Update:  When we finished the Little House books, I had all 4 children with me each night.  But when the boys left, we selected "The Borrowers", and me and the girls have loved reading thru the stories of the adventures of Arriety, Pod, and Homily.  I was excited to read in a British accent.  Belle helped keep me in line with the voices of each of the characters, even the high pitched Aunt Lupy, who was "absolutely dreadful" at times.  We all laughed each time Homily complained about their current situation..."I would just rather die" became our favorite Homily catchphrase.  We would also pick on Ruby, who often didn't make it to the end of the chapter without falling asleep (We learned to say our prayers BEFORE starting the chapter).  But the series came to an end, and now we just have to wonder what happened next to our small borrowing friends.

What is next for me and my girlies..."The All-of-a-Kind Family", a story of a Jewish family (with 5 little girls) living in New York City near the beginning of the 20th century.  We have already cracked up with the story of "Mrs. Library Lady", and almost finished with book one.

And what is up with those lights outside our house in the pictures below...Sam gets mad props for helping Magan hang them many many many times and many many many different ways, until Magan finally got them the way she wanted them.  I could never have done this, and perhaps that is why Magan did not ask me to help much with them.  I don't know where Sam got his patience, but to deal with that woman and those lights...he has got some super power patience.

What else is going on below?  Rawls over for the Super Bowl, Valentines Day visits to our grandparents, Sam's basketball season comes to an end, Marsha flipping gang signs at some lettuce, the girls had a service day to visit some of our shut-ins from church, Ruby completes the Mercedes kids marathon at school this year due to COVID (But she said it was fun, and they got to follow the police car around the school running their final mile), small group back at our house, me and my bum knee (out of service for like a week and a half), and a date lunch at PF Changs.
