Around the House

So we have a new van, which has lead to a couple of funny stories this month.  Magan was on her way to Cullman for the first time in the new van, and I get a call from home in a somewhat common panicked "I'm late, and the world is slowing me down" voice.  "I can't get the gas to go in the car, it will not pump".  I will admit my instinct was to ask some condescending questions, but I could tell from the earlier voice that this was not the time.  And as she facetimed me and showed me what was going on, I said I don't know, just ask someone there.  So as I was googling any gas issues at home, she was trying to ask for help on how to get gas in our new van.  And then I sent a text to the Honda saleslady who asked me to send her any questions we had.  And as soon as I hit send, Magan called back...It was a pump issue, the next pump worked fine.  Flashforward 2 weeks, and Magan is running behind and leaving the house, when she comes up stairs in a panicked voice..."My key will not work the van, but come watch this"  And she showed me that her key worked the old black van.  Not knowing what was going on...I just asked "Are you sure that is your key?"  And I got the look, so I knew it must be her key.  I told her to just take my key and we will figure it out later.  So again I was looking for some strange key code mismatch issue on google, and yes, I sent another text to sales lady.  Then later that evening when I got a chance to go out there with both keys, I noticed that her key to the new van was just another key to the black van.  Where did you get this key?  I asked her.  Out of your drawer she replied.  Well that is not your key, that is a third key to the black van, which she did not realize we had.  Then after realizing this, she found out that she was trying to work the new van with the wrong key, which helped her remember where her new key was in her wallet.  And another embarrassed "Nevermind" to the saleslady at Honda, who by this time, thinks we are completely crazy.  And for one key owner, she is most likely correct.

Magan told me about Ruby parting her hair the other day while combing it..."Look mom, I see your spine".

And let's look below, what else was going on...frisbee golf to get out of the house.  Sam and I have been joking that since COVID has shifted out of focus, our days are just all inside it seems lately...a new baby squirrel at the Gerald's house...The Church Kid's Class presentation and awards was a fun first time event for the kids.  They presented the key passages, bible periods, and books of the bible in front of the church.  And Ruby and Belle earned all of the pins...Shay's baby shower...Chelsea Football...Small Group at our house...Ruby has four teeth pulled...Ruby finds a deer in the backyard...A trip down to Autaugaville for the flower fields...work day at the church building...trips to Cullman to see family and football...Me and the boys go back to theater for first time since COVID...and me and the girls sing a song to Mrs. Cespedes, who taught both Belle and Ruby, but leaving to be the principal at another school.

Mrs. Cespedes Song...
