Christmas at Granddaddy and Granny's

Our family picture grew by one this Christmas season with Noel joining the bulk of the gatherings.   And in helping get the table ready for all of us, we made sure that both of them could join the "Big Kid" table.   But we also saw that this would no longer work when Davis or the next boy/girl friend joined in.   So I figure that when the next boy/girl friend joins these gatherings, they would have to start a new table for the next generation.   Or maybe the girls and guys will separate, only time will tell.   But when I explained to Sam and Noel my theory about what will happen when the next girlfriend comes along, she looked at me strangely, as I slowly realized it sounded like when she is replaced.   So add that to the list of ongoing awkwardness with Noel.

Granny had a good idea to have all of the MawMaw presents go first to allow for the children to take time and enjoy all the gifts she had gotten them before the mountain of presents that would later follow.   I think everyone was happy with everything.   Food was amazing as usual, Granny tried something different with the Chicken Devine, and it was great.   Always a good assortment of veggies in the Junkin meal too.

I don't remember all the presents, but a few of the memorable ones were the matching shirts for Granddad and John, even tho the gift came from Colby.   Lots of "Vacation" themed merch for Granddad.   Some wood drawings and stories from Aunt Tera.   Davis got his first pair of Air Jordans.   Ruby got a lava lamp.   People got stuff from us that I had no idea about.   An outline of our family from Noel (it even looked like I had eyebrows in the drawing).

And then there were a series of games.   I can't remember the name of this game, but you had to use key words to help the guesser guess the secret word.   Sometimes this worked well, and sometimes my wavelength of "Rocking" to help someone guess "Sock" just did not work.   But while we worked, there was some picture in a box thing going on for the grandkids.   Someone told me this was one of them tiktok things.   Always fun to be with family for Christmas!
