Christmas at Home

Our typical tradition is to exchange gifts from the family on Christmas Eve, then open all the gifts to the kids from Mom and Dad on Christmas Day.   I also captured our new favorite light house that is in a neighborhood nearby, even tho we visited on the way home from one of the Cullman gatherings.   So on Christmas Eve, all the kids opened the presents from one another.   Ruby had picked things for all of us from Gingerbread Lane at school, but also had some gifts from Dollar Tree.   Dollar Tree is the primary shopping for these gifts, but it is always fun.   I always get my Mike and Ike candy, and this year got some Caramelos that Davis thought was Milka.   Magan got a cube that had pictures of Sam's head from 6 different angles.   Anabelle had helped him get all the pics once he shared with her the idea.   Magan got me a Fable-Ticks shirt, some candied pecans, and some Bourbon shower gel (Yeah, we had fun with this one).   And I got Magan all the stuff that she told me to get her.   And with the magic already beginning to thin quite a bit, I asked Ruby to stay asleep till at least 6:30AM.

Christmas morning was fun, but our first with no one as excited as before.   But we still had a little girl up with her alarm to check out her prizes.   I think all got an outdoor folding chair, except for Davis.   Who later told Magan he felt bad that they all got a chair, and he got an electric scooter from Santa.   But Santa knew he may need it for college, and he may actually use it for classes.   Christopher Popinkins and his family of elves made their way back to the mantel to watch the kids open presents, and he brought a letter from Santa.   Sadly dad had to read it, as none seemed as excited to read it this year.   I think Ruby somehow got $5 for finding the pickle first, but I didn't even know that was a thing.   Apparently magan decided we needed to give the kids a little more money.

Everyone got a squishmellow, except for Belle, but she got some squishy thing from Harry Potter.   Ruby's favorite was the elephant warmie that she immediately put into the microwave to warm up, but her second favorite was the adorable home.   Davis loved some McLaren shirts Magan got for him.   Sam got some Alabama floor mats for the new car.   Belle got a bunch of clothes and jewelry and strangely a coloring book she asked for.   Davis (secretively) purchased a Lego Set "UP" house for magan, then forgot he got it and had to put it together later that day on Christmas.   The boys got some new Barons jerseys.   And Magan made an excellent breakfast casserole with conecuh sausage in it.   It really was amazing, but I will admit that small piece found its way to the back of the fridge, and we had to throw it out last night (1/10/25).
