I really loved that the boys had this summer together, working with Granddad at Rozars. I have already shared some of the funny stories they shared that were probably on a small portion of the tales they laughed about on the drives to and from work. We were happy that Granddad did not blow himself up on the fork lift, they laughed telling me about the few words of John Chappell, Davis usually had a story about Chuck, and they both loved to tell us about all the meals Chuck would take them out to, especially one meal that took about 2 hours one day. They ate at the original full moon, and sent me updates of the amazing meal. They told me about hours and hours of pallets that they had to unload and store, and pallets and pallets of old paint they needed to "dispose", one paint can that exploded in Dave's hands, and probably 100 other near misses I am glad they did not share with me. They fully confirmed Granddad's favorite joke that his last name at Rozars is "Line 1".
I did get a chance to visit during one of their last weeks, and was proud to hear such great words about both boys from Chuck. Even one of the other younger guys that worked with them told me how good of workers they were. I have watched these boys both grow closer together, but also have time with their granddad, that I have rarely seen in the last few years. On my visit, Granddad was doing the work of about 3 other people, so he was not able to join us for a local BBQ joint about 4 blocks away. It was really good, and Sam even went to Mac's beforehand so I could try the famous Mac's fries they bragged about. And I took this picture of the nuns in that BBQ joint on that day, and I don't know why, but it just makes me smile.
The last set of pictures I think is from their last day at work, where Noel, Granny and Mom were able to all join them for lunch. Sam's rozar days may have come to an end with his cooping set to begin next summer, but pretty sure Davis may be back with his granddad again. I know they have the wardrobe now for this work, as I can't remember anytime this summer where someone wasn't wearing a PPG hat or a rozars shirt. I am actually wearing a rozars shirt right now as I write this blog. I do know a lot of blue jeans will have to be converted into caving jeans after this summer.
