A Ratcliff Christmas

Our nanny was on doctors orders to stay away from all those sick folks out in the world, so we all gathered at James and Marcias.   It just does not ever feel the same without all the Santas around the living room.   A Ratcliff Christmas to me will always have the sound of Santa sleeping with a slight snore, slight whistle coming from somewhere over near the hearth.

But this was the Christmas of the biscuits at Marcias, where she had ordered some monster biscuits, and it was declared ok prior-prayer to half that biscuit should you not be up to the challenge to eat a full biscuit.   Luckily Magan got me one in the togo box, which sustained me post Christmas gatherings for three days on that biscuit alone.   And while I did have a few crumbs that fell to the floor, I was about to find each one and ensure the full biscuit was eaten.

Eloise bought some presents for a lot of people there, and it is always sweet when a little one spends a little of their money on you.   Well, nothing was purchased for their favorite uncle, but Magan did get something.   Me and Belle loved playing with Eloise and CeCi out at the tire swing.   I would push them way up high, and then listen to all the giggles as they dropped from "above the trees".   There was an incident when Eloise walked right in the way and was nailed by the swing, but to my surprise, she took it better than I think I would have.   No tears, but you could tell their was some pain.   Sorry Marc and Emily, if you happen to read this, I did not mention this.   But it is kinda like when you drop a baby...you just look around and make sure no one saw, then continue on your way.

After the meal, Jasper was able to join us, since his mom had given him the wrong family gathering day, and he had to work earlier.   But it was good to have him and Mir join us for the game of papers.   I don't remember much of these clues, but I think this was my first time to play with Marcia, and I cracked up at her getting mad when her team could not think of Buckingham Palace.   I was not happy with my team when I did a full episode of Wheel of Fortune to get to a perfect charades clue for Vanna White, but no one had any idea...then Eli got the same clue later, pointed to a white bowl, and someone guessed "Vanna White".   Dear me.   Everyone laughed at Jaspers clue of Pyongyang, which is the capital of North Korea, but was thought to be an Anime character.   I had to deal with describing Jackson Hole Wyoming, when the clue was written as Jackson Hole Nebraska.   But in the end, it was fun all around as that game always is.   Magan did get to visit with Nanny later that evening.
