Chelsea Christmas Parade

We still have a couple in this annual Christmas Parade.   This year, Belle drove herself to the meeting place for the show choir girls at our church building.   And Magan and Ruby met up with the AHG girls at Liberty Baptist, where many of the girls had dressed up as Christmas presents for the parade.   I can't remember not marching in this parade, but since the girls all just ride in the float, there is not much need for random AHG dad, so instead, I joined up with Sam, Davis and Noel as just another spectator.   I really don't remember not being in the parade, so it was fun getting there a little early.   I walked down the closed road and met up with the Britt family for a bit, then chatted with all my friends that I passed by along the way.   My momma would be proud of that little boy that she once had to drag over to a neighbors and make him talk to another kid.

We made our basecamp near the Wilsons, as Davis had already found Ava and jumped up into the truck with her.   Since Luke and some other old scout friends were there, we had plenty of connections for some chatting before the fire trucks began the 2025 Christmas Parade.   I took a few pictures of the random crazy things you see in this parade.   I laughed at the ChickFilA float throwing actual sandwiches to the crowds.   One fell near the Wilson area, and it was destroyed by that group...altho I am positive Davis and Ava ended up with a few pieces of the biscuit.

Ruby came by fairly early in the parade and was able to make it back to us along the path.   We were both sad that we missed the stuffed toys that were thrown.   We did catch alot of candy, and I am pretty sure we added a plastic cup or two to our collection.   Davis and Ava were fun to watch as they got several floats to throw candy all the way to the truck.   Sam and Noel were cute just watching together.   Belle came by singing with the show choir, but never found us, and we later found out Brandon took that group directly back to their cars after they finished.   So we had to wait for Belle to get thru all the traffic after the parade back to us in the Aldi parking lot.

We decided to visit the new Valley Post area in chelsea for lunch.   They have a Hero Diner, a Rodney Scott BBQ, a Little Donkey mexican restaurant, and a Luca and Lucy Italian place all together in one open area.   It was really nice, and we all squeezed into a booth at Hero Diner to try their burgers and donuts.   Burgers were very good, but donuts were cakey, and not my favorite.   But the location is really fun with a large outdoor area with a jumbo screen to watch sporting events.   It was a fun day, but no parade day is over till Santa comes thru the neighborhood in the evenings.   He visited our home that evening, and while he did not get out to talk with Ruby as "skinny Santa" did last year, we did see him wave in the window of the firetruck as he passed by.
