We forced Mom to go to bed before her normal midnight rise from the couch, so that Davis and I could get started with the streamers. Davis clearly did the majority of the work, but I did some of the kitchen work. And the cutest surprise was the PARTAY hats on all the Elfs that had moved into the kitchen to enjoy the festivities. I am pretty sure that was Belle that did that, since Ruby knows not to touch the elves.
Mom woke to music playing in her head as she danced thru the living room then the kitchen streamers, already with visions of freebie day with Marcia. Not appreciated by Magan, I sent her screenshots throughout the day of the credit card charges on this freebie day. But I know how much she loves this day, and not just for the "freebies", but mostly for the time with her sister. Every year, this is one of my favorites also, just to pick out the blog pics for this day. Those sisters just glow when they are together. And when you can't see Magan's beautiful brown eyes, you know she is happy, cause she is either smiling or dreaming about freebie day.
The freebie day did have some surprises on this day, with the van refusing to crank after she picked up her free cookie at Cumbl. Luckily, I was working from home that day, and quickly met her and gave her my van, as I took hers to Autozone. But battery was fine, it may have just been that this week was butt cold. No other issues with the van 3 weeks later as I write this, so hopefully we are good to go. Let's see if I can guess from the pictures...they went to PF Changs for lunch, where there was a bathroom completely covered in paper, where they found out later, a car had run into the restaurant. Wow, can you imagine being on the toilet when that happened? I imagine that person coming up to St Peter and saying "I was reaching for the roll, and then I was called up yonder".
There was a Kendra Scott visit that had Magan written all over it, as the person working there kept helping others and not Magan/Marcia. They apparently looked like they were only in there for the birthday freebie (or 50 off sale). But long waits and lines are typical in the life of a Magan. Looks like they also went to the Orange bag store, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Soma (which has my full financial support with any % off), and Loft. I know that Cheesecake factory was skipped, as that visit made it into our date night later in the month.
At home, Magan was just happy to have all the kiddos there for her party. Belle cooked her the famous Ottriss chocolate cake, and we all sang Merry Birthday. Davis was upset I did not get the traditional holiday cookie cake, but I had seen all those freebie charges all day, and decided that the Ottriss cake was enough. Since the girls had helped me at the Galleria, we actually had gifts for Magan, including a car smell good apparatus from Bath and Body works, a Cinderella hair clip, and a little bag to fit within your mini-back pack...again with a Cinderella theme. Another year older, I won't say which one, as she would probably tell you a -1 or a -2 on the age because she just doesn't remember, but we love her, and love how much she does for us. You make each day brighter, unless that day includes visitors to our home. :) So Merry Birthday Magan/Mom! Hatten Burten Dayten Tootin Youtin!
