Our crew spent the night with Granny and Granddad the night before, so Ruby woke up and was able to help Granny cook some of the food that morning. My favorite memory from this day was Granny finally getting me my astronaut suit that I probably asked for 40 years ago, and after watching space camp, could not wait to one day visit, and accidentally be sent into space by the robot Jinx. I was able to get to Space Camp in 2017, but now with my own suit, I have already been looking to see how I can get back with the girls (I see the eye rolls Belle...but you are coming too).
The first picture embarrasses me a bit with a comment I made that later Sam and Noel loved picking on me over, but I will not mention again, as that will just remain between us. I remember little Laney asking me to show her some magic, and that was fun. My notes were thin from this gathering, but judging from the smiles, the day was a success. The only other thing that comes to mind was almost forgetting my jar of pear preserves, but Colby helping a brother out and bringing them out to the car for me. I also remember a pecan pie that I enjoyed for the rest of that week slowly. And I do remember Magan laughing at Davis being so excited about Talladega Nights flag, where Ben had similar excitement of a Charlie Kirk shirt. Davis Davis Davis...And the Sam and Davis Bama effect seems to have slowly infected Colby's family with Andrew now proudly wearing a Crimson Tide shirt and carrying an elephant around.
