Eagle Rank Earned

At some point, we will actually plan a ceremony and have friends and family to celebrate Sam earning the Eagle rank of Boy Scouts...as for now, we will just capture the few pictures after his board of review at Morningstar Methodist.  The two people from council on his board of review both shared good thoughts and reports of Sam's responses during his review.  I have had many other parents tell me about how painful the paperwork process, and the project coordination...but luckily I had Sam, who for the most part, just gets things done himself.  He asked me to proofread, asked me for advice, then went and got his project completed.  Never could have done it without our Grandaddy, who helped keep us straight with the right tools and cuts.  He also got pulled back into the trailwork, where we went back to fix a couple of stairs that had been washed out.

But with all that said, following the Board of Review, Sam became, on that night, the latest Scout to earn the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Rank.  Neither of us realized that the family was supposed to be there, so it was just me, him, and his scoutmaster Mr. George.  And we got a pic to prove that we were there.  He is excited for the next phase of his scouting, being a junior scoutmaster, and helping all 17 new guys crossing over from cub scouts earn their first ranks of the boy scouts.
