The Chelsea Show Choir team "Out of the Blue (OOTB)" finished their year with 3 2nd place trophies, getting runner up at Oak Mountain, Homewood, and Auburn. Anabelle's mic was finally working well for the last few shows, and she sounded amazing at Auburn (at least from the video I watched). We had lots of friends and family join at these events, and I know that Belle is a bit sad when these performances come to an end.
The whole family was able to make it to Oak Mountains competition, and we think they had to be close to 1st place, and the 1st place team only had one male in a "mixed group", so there was a little drama with that. We also got to see the Auburn High School men's team do a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle show with the actual turtles on stage. There show also had three aliens that were fighting against the turtles, with a solo from one of the aliens. Pretty fun show. Noel was happy that I brought some caprisuns to the show, and Sam enjoyed one of the bag of biscuits I brought. It is fun to watch Anabelle continue to grow and be comfortable on that stage, as she has definitely found the perfect activity for her talents.
Only Ruby and Mom went down to Auburn for that show, which was another 1st runner up show, but all had fun as it was there last show, and they actually got to perform once then again in the finals. Ruby and Mom had a fun time getting to visit with Katie Lackey, who was a close friend from high school, now both of our girls are in show choir. Magan said that this was Belle's best performance, and the team's as well.
And on a side adventure, while Belle rode home on the bus because it was the last show of the year, Ruby and Mom decided to explore Auburn. Magan wanted them to try the famous Toomer's Corner lemonade, so they drove around and around looking for parking. This basically led them into a circle through downtown Auburn where Ruby said "This is creepy". Magan replied, "This is NOT creepy, it is Auburn", then immediately afterwards a cop blocked the road, and they were forced down an alleyway with a group of college boys drinking beer walking their way. Laughing later, Magan agreed that this might have been a bit creepy.
When they finally found a parking spot, they got out to visit some famous old building on Auburn's campus. Then they finally got to taste the famous lemonade, and had a cookie that they both bragged about where you could get any flavor cookie for top and bottom and filled it with ice cream. Finally back in their van, they pulled out of the parking spot and put whataburger into the Waze. And then realized it was in the same area, so again, they drove around to the policed area, again they drove down creepy alley way, and finally made it to a burger. If you want to hear the story told much better and with more laughter, ask Ruby.
