Daddy and His Beautiful Daughters Dance

I will never forget how much of a treasure this night is for me.   I often look at these first AHG dances when you girls were so small, then quickly turn away and run from the Echo to grab some tissue.   I think we were the only ones up there when they were playing "Million Dreams", but I know that song is ours, and even if I can't lift you guys spinning in the air, in our minds dancing along the rooftops, I see in your smiles the memories as well.   

Anabelle was my date this year for the American Heritage Girl daddy daughter dance, so Ruby joined up with Granddaddy.   There was an "Under the Sea" theme, but no crazy outfit was selected for me, so for the first time in all of these dances, I believe, I just wore a normal suit and tie.   It is the same suit I have had forever, but for some reason it was not buttoning in front very easy, and felt way too tight.   

Magan, of course, was the amazing coordinator for this event, and planned what might have been the best dance ever.   The whole middle section of the floor was wide open for dancing and the lead out.   Decorations were fun, and the kids liked painting sea shells as the activity.   Besides "Million Dreams", the dads were up for dances like the "Chicken Dance" and "Cupid Shuffle".   During the off times, the dance floor was full of the little girls dancing in circles.   The couple that always teaches us a new dance were able to join us again, and taught us what they called a line or circle dance.   Neither me and Belle or Granddad and Ruby really picked it up, but both of us were laughing trying to get it somewhat correct.   

We got some fun pictures of Sam Dabbs dressed as Mr. Crab, Ms Robbie dressed as a jelly fish, and the little girl that everyone calls "Chicken Nugget" (even her mom).   Magan had some added drama with one of the mommas which is usual.   And then we had the fun lead out section.   I think Belle suggested we do the swimmer dance that Magan captured.   And finally, as does all these fun times, our night came to an end.   The girls both looked so beautiful on this night.
