The Short Month

This short month included a small group lunch at our house, where visiting preacher Gregory Roark was able to join and share a little more about his time in Africa.   Sam shared the devotion on that day.   And since we were having Meat Soup, Joe and Karen Smith drove out to the house later in the afternoon for a bowl to take home for supper.

The annual College Street Players show was "The Little Mermaid" and it was amazing as usual.   Stella's part as the French Chef was so funny, and she was perfect.   I did not understand the French, but loved the mustache.   I was excited to get my selfie with her afterwards.   And I forgot to get a picture with Eli, but was blown away by his voice.   He seemed more confident that previous years up there, and sounded great when he sang.   I don't think the crowds have ever been this big for these shows, but it was crazy how many people were there.   I even got to see my old college friend Julie, whose daughter was also in the play.   She had no idea we were connected to Marcia and the Sartins, so was surprised when I sent a message saying we would be there.   Oh, and the Weeks girl singing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" was awesome.   Wow, all of them were sooo good.   It was just fun to watch, but I must admit that I was looking for Nemo for the first 10 minutes a little confused by the yellow fish instead.

Due to some storm issues, Ole Miss women's basketball team played a couple of games at the new Legacy Arena, and since it was free, me and Ruby and Taylor Grace went and got some pretty close seats.   Women's basketball is hard to get excited about, especially when the girls have no real love for basketball anyway, so I tried to space the ice cream and walk arounds out a bit, but we hit the ice cream too early still in the 2nd quarter.   It was an adventure, so I am glad we went.   But they did not have all the usual timeout and halftime shows and activities, which is really needed in women's basketball.   And yes, Sam and Davis, I did practice my strategic parking at the deck once again.

And the random pictures below...Oreo caught a bird that found its way onto the porch.   Me and Sam shared work photos.   Mom went to an old lady cookie decorating event.   The older girls had a galentines events for the younger girls at church.   Sarah Beth and Belle were the party hosts.   I got another ride on the company jet to Plant Hatch (always feels unreal).   Since the boys are now out of the house, I have to get excited when Ruby comes and asks if I want to go to Bath and Body Works for the day.   We had a good time, even if she didn't know where the store was after I told her many many times.   While Mom and the girls were at a show choir competition, me and Davis did some disc golfing.   Afterwards, we had my new favorite chicken place "Super Chix", then we lined up for the exciting long line to pick up the clothes that did not sale at the Giggles and Grace consignment.   And I had a fun day with the NAYGN talking to kids about electricity.
