Happy Valentines Day!

Magan and I celebrated Valentines a week early this year with a dinner and movie date night, which is much easier to manage now that the kids are all older.   I recently signed up for Angel Studios streaming service, where we have found some great shows, and no worries about having to clean them up with Vid-Angel.   One of the other benefits to being an Angel Studios member is 2 free tickets to every theatrical release.   And they had just released "Solo Mio" with Kevin James.   And we have found the perfect time for a movie is the 3:30 show, because afterwards you can go to dinner and be home before it is too late.   And looking around in that theater, we have found our crowd.   It is a sea of white hair, slow moving group with canes and frequent bathroom visits, but our same folks from the Grand Ole Opry, and we fit in fine.

The movie began, and while it did also have subtitles (reference earlier description of our group), it was a fun movie with some good laughs.   Interesting to see the guy that plays Jesus in "The Chosen" being tipsy and singing karaoke, but Angel Studios has some wiggle room to try and keep up with the big studios.   And after the movie, one lady in our crowd tried a slow clap to get everyone to cheer the screen, but it did not pick up.   Magan and I did have to slide around the couple to our right as they were going to take while to get up out of those seats.   The men's bathroom was full with my crowd that all could not believe they made it through 1.5 hour movie, all running to relieve themselves.   Magan laughed as she passed one lady in the bathroom to get to a stall to help the other lady have the closer stall....then Magan realized that she had taken the handicap one the lady was probably targeting, just too slow to beat Magan there.

Before dinner, we stopped at Nothing Bundt Cake, and after finally deciding what we wanted, Magan said "Ok, just get that".   At this point, I forgot all of the cakes were in a super clean and clear glass case, so I reached out to grab one and smashed my hand into the glass.   Neither one of us could stop laughing at my mess up, as we finally were able to pay for the bundlet and leave.   We ate at the Village Tavern afterwards, Magan with steak, and me with a pork chop, then both of us with the best Butter Cake dessert ever.   The waitress told us it was at one point on a list of desserts in Alabama to eat before you die, so check, done.

Nothing on my part, but Magan does keep Valentines going as a holiday giving us all little gift and candy.   I think we saw Sam and Noel during a show choir performance for their valentines surprises, and Davis was home on a different weekend for valentines.   Me and the girls got our prizes at home.   Mom did not get anything, except for the aforementioned dinner and movie.

My actual Valentines Day date was at Alabama with Davis for another basketball game.   We saw Bama beat South Carolina, ate a crazy amount of pork and mashed potatoes, upsetting both our stomachs.   But we were still able to fit in some Ben's soft pretzels later in the game.   We of course had to send Ruby the picture of 6 7 when both teams scored that amount.   Sam and Noel shared a pic from the Alabama Theater where they watched Casablanca on this special day.
