Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical

Well, I have found that if you use SeatGeek after the major Broadway show in the fall, you can find some really good prices for these tickets.   Our tickets to Mrs. Doubtfire were only $20/each, and the girls were very excited to go...and very disappointed when it ended up being the week of FC camp.   So we pulled in Davis and Lisa to go in their place, and had a good meal at Metro Diner before heading into town for the show.   After a horrible Patty Melt at the "MELT" restaurant the other day with Belle, I tried again, and Metro Diner did not let me down.

At the show, we found our way to "our" normal seats and had a pretty good view.   And after spending a small fortune on a few drinks, we got ready for the show.   And we did not really have any big ideas about this show, other than curious how it would be as a musical.   The guy playing Mrs. Doubtfire certainly had skills in the voices, and he was quite funny.   But his brother was probably the funniest character as he screamed out his lines anytime he was lying...which was often during the show.   The key song sung by the kids was called "What the !?*L", so perhaps not great for the kids, but we took Ruby to Dear Evan Hansen, so we are probably not on the best parent list at this point.

I laughed at many of the jokes, but I love the big songs in a musical, and this one only had one.   The wife of Mrs. Doubtfire had a really good solo, but nothing I really remember well.   So I am glad we came, and it was fun.   And I think Ruby and Belle would have laughed even more at some of the silly humor within.   But might not be one I need to ever return for.   We did all have fun with our impressions of Hellooooo while in the lobby.   And of course, Magan got trapped by random concession lady that talked to her for like 10 minutes.   Lisa and I spoke about this happening wherever Magan went.   Then Davis walked over, and the lady then had to talk about his movie star looks and how he needs to be in a magazine.   Dear me.
