Geologist Scout Meeting

We had a special guest at the den meeting tonight.  A real live Geologist, Scott Vinsant, came over to share some of his rocks with the kids.  Each of the boys also got to share with Scott some of their favorite rocks.  These boys are getting closer and closer to earning the Arrow of Light.

Fall Baseball

It was a fun Fall Ball Season.  Sam and Davis played on the same team, and they did really well.  The team won every game until the tournament, and got put out in the first round.  Oh well.  Sam hit two home runs this year, and got the gameball for one of those games.  Davis struggled through the first of the season, but then had a breakout game with two big hits into the outfield.  He also got the gameball on that night.  So happy for these boys, wish they would keep playing...especially when they are on the same team.  Definitely my favorite season they have played.

Sam got hit 4 times, and Davis 2 times...but that is kid player pitch for you.

Day at the Zoo

Magan needed to work on this Saturday, so I got to take all of the kids to the zoo.  I love days like this, and enjoyed mostly little Ruby's babbling about the elephants.  She loves the animals, but will quickly tell you no, if you ask if she wants to pet them.  But that is a good thing when many would eat her if she pet them.

The Sick Bug

So the sick bug started with Ru at the Auburn game, but then moved over to Belle, then over to Davis, and for a little bit to Sam.

And Magan got to handle all of this while I was in Charlotte.

How does Belle handle being sick?  Like a pro, she made it to the bathroom each time, and always had her sick bucket.

How does Mr. Davis Drama handle being sick?  AAGHHHHHHH!  Dear me, that boy.  I am usually the puke cleaner upper, while Magan handles the sick kids and talking them through that they will live...or perhaps that is more just for Davis.  But I was away, so Magan had both duties.  Davis was first on the couch with a blanket, where Magan told him to use the blanket if he could not get to the bathroom...but he apparently heard this as cry for your mama for 5 minutes, then when she doesn't come puke all over the blanket...so Magan moved him into his room with the sick bucket next to him...and again puke all over the bed without even trying for the bucket...then in our room NEXT to the bathroom, but yet again...right on the carpet.  Davis would not have gotten away with this if I was home.  Magan is now correcting me that he through up 5 times, and hit bucket once.  Davis...you better give your mama many hugs, cause she was about to take you out on this night.  :) But luckily he finally got better.

Sam only got sick at PE at school where he told me he puked into some bushes, but he said the chocolate milk and cookies he had right before PE might have also had something to do with it.  He had to be checked out and stayed out of school for a day.

Auburn Game

Now this event was planned as a repeat of last year's Auburn game with Granddaddy.  But then Grandaddy got 4 additional tickets, so John and Shja decided to come, then Katie and Colby and family, so with all on board, Magan and the girls also decided to come.

So the night before the Auburn Game, and all through the house...a sick bug was stirring and Wyatt likes cows.  Sorry, tired of rhyming.  Ben got sick (Asked his Granny if sometime sick kids could go to Auburn games), so that took out the Colby Clan, then the rain came in...And the morning of the game, while we were getting our food at McDonalds, Ruby threw up.  Not having any problems before this, we thought this was a spit up incident, and decided to make a go of it, while Scott who foresees any and all potential bad sides of the story attempted to calculate how bad this could be on a rainy day in Auburn.  It was not looking good, and Magan and I were trying to make a decision, when Ruby made it for us in Sylacauga...puking near the Home Depot (Sounds like a good country song).  So me and the boys got out and made it the rest of the way with Katie/Mark/Granddaddy/Granny and Wyatt.  Magan said Ruby puked one more time before getting home.

It was Scout day at the Auburn game, so me and the boys got in free, but our tickets with Mark and Katies guest tickets were WAY UP in the top of Jordan Hare.  And then the rainy mist started coming down.  It was fun, and I think everyone had a good time in the end.  We enjoyed Tiger Walk, Walk to the Closed museum, Walk around to the right gate for scout entrance, and Walk up the upper deck.  Ha, but I guess I have a couple of Auburn fans, cause those boys loved it all.  Wish everyone could have been there.  We wanted to go on the field, but the line was too long.  But the sweetest moment, was probably when Granny offered her coat to poor cold John that forgot how to dress when the weather is cold.  :)  Or perhaps Wyatt grabbing the boys cheeks.  Yeah, that was sweeter.

Old Baker Farms...again...

Can't say much, because I was not at this trip.  Magan braved Old Baker Farms once again...I think there are two more field trips with Ruby to this place, maybe I will take one of those slots.  :)  But I think you can see Belle being her normal shy self.

Belle tells me that the goat in the bottom picture was named tinkerbell.

Ruby Turns 2

So when you turn 1, the whole family comes, and you get a special cake, and pictures with you and your cake, then get cake to smash in your face.  Then you turn two, and the boys have baseball practice, and you get the 20 minutes allowed between work and practice....then you later throw up on the way to Auburn for another party.  Life is fast, but you just have to grow up quickly and deal with these life lessons.  Anyway, my cutey little girl turned two...and makes me smile every day.  Especially with her new "funny face" where she squints her eyes and grins...It makes us all laugh, and she knows she is the life of the party, as each one of us can't stop laughing when she does it.  So she keeps doing it.
