I checked the blogs, and while it was the 7th annual slip and slide day, my crew was not at the first, so it probably wasn't very fun without us...maybe it is more like the 6th annual fun slip and slide day. It was a time of a lot of rain, but this week worked out perfectly, and we had a couple of days of sunshine to dry up things and let John prep the widest slipping area in all 6 fun years of sliding.
There was the normal pizza lunch, the normal wonderful desserts, the normal fun family discussions, a random happy birthday cake, a little magic for the kids, a first slide for Noel, a championship trophy passed from Davis to Mark, some very near misses of little kids being hammered by adults (Katie) that don't wait at the top, I think only one injury of either Wyatt or Luke, a wild slide all the way around the pool chasing Laney by Uncle Scott, and smiles everywhere.
I remember jumping in the pool and teasing Andrew that I was peeing in it while I sat there. With no hesitation, and full honesty he replied "yeah, I just farted". Davis got his first tattoo with his favorite Aunt Katie's name on his shoulder. The girls made the cutest signs all over the house for different things, including the "Slip and Slide day" sign. John and Shay are amazing to put all this together, maybe just John, I don't know what Shay does for this event, but it was definitely the best 6th annual fun slip and slide day ever.
