End of School Days

I told Anabelle to beware of this end of school days blog, as I put it together and then did not find much of Belle anywhere.   But as mentioned in other blogs around this same time, graduating from high school and from elementary school seemed to get a lot more attention than getting through the 9th grade.   She told me it was ok, because she was probably in a lot of Choir blogs, and that is true.   It is wild that this year is over.   As the school year began, we still needed to get Davis his Eagle, we had to find him a college to attend, we had Belle beginning showchoir and theater, and Ruby with our last year at Forest Oaks.

My and Magan's favorite thing they do for the Seniors is let them walk through the Elementary Schools where they began, and it has been great because Ruby was there for both Sam and now Davis.   Her sign she made for him said "Davis, I'm glad your not going to a California College", which was probably said in a joking form at the beginning of the year, but these guys grew quite close, and I know she is happy that we will still get to see him like we get to see Sam.   Davis also got his picture with his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Garrett, and his 3rd Grade Teacher Mrs. Long (Fincher).   Mrs. Long is the one that gifted us the turtles in what seems another lifetime.

Davis had his end of year awards at Chelsea High, where I will try and avoid at all costs next time.   Wow, this manner of awarding, clapping, picture, clapping, sit down was horrible when you had so many names.   Their principal needs to speed it up in rap form before we get to Anabelles.   He got pictures below with his guy friend group, the girl friend group, and 3 of his scouting buddies that also all received the Eagle Rank.

Ruby looked so pretty at her end of the year awards ceremony and graduation.   And she got awards for helping with the library store, and packing lunches for kids over the weekends.   And finally, for the 5th grade, she received the Principal Leadership award.   Magan told me this typically goes to a teacher's kid, but our Ruby has a servant's heart that can't be overlooked.   And then after her ceremony, she also got to walk the halls of kindergarten thru 5th grade to see all of her old teachers and give high fives to the younger kids.   Magan and I waited outside that day as they then walk through all the parents who cheer them on before finally returning to class.

Ruby then had an EOY outdoor water party with all her friends, and guess who got sun burned...yep, Magan was there and forgot how the sun worked again.   Belle finally made it into one of the pictures below, as I think she joined Davis for Madisons graduation party.  I think Belle has enjoyed some of those connections made thru being the little sister.   And finally, the last day picture of me and Ruby sitting on the porch waiting for the bus.   I am sure this will continue next year, but the middle school bus comes a little later, so it may not be as easy to be out there.   I will forever remember  our little talks about this and that, mostly nothing, but both of us not happy if the other is not there.   Sometimes we just sit and enjoy being there.   Then she gets on the bus, and I see that little hand waving until out of sight.   Love you my Ruby Lou.   Love you my Belly Boo.   And Love you too Dave.
