Mother's Day Tea

I love you because "she makes delicious meals for my whole family at home".  That's what Belle wrote for her mom on the letter below.  And I don't know if you can tell, but she was super happy to have Magan there for the tea with her friends Hannah and Sawyer.  Sawyer's mom was loved because she was "wild and crazy".  HaHa.  A wonderful idea from her first grade teacher, whom she adores...Mrs. Kurtz.

Scout Graduation

Another year of scouting gone by, and this was by far the best...two outdoor campouts, USS Alabama, and a Nashville Predators game.  Lots of fun all year.  Davis and his crew of webelos led out the flags on this night, and Davis led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Dave was awarded his God and Family badge that he worked very hard on this year, and because of a 4.2 mile hike at the last campout, he was awarded a Good Turn coin.  And what has become a tradition for the last meeting of the year, we wrap up the year, by wrapping up the den leaders with toilet paper.  This year, that was one of my many roles, so away I went to be mummified by the "Bears".

Mother's Day

Late posting blog for Mother's Day, but I wanted to capture all of the cute stuff Davis and Anabelle made for their mom.  Hopefully you can read the stuff.  For the book Anabelle did, I will provide with some spelling check applied...

- My mom laughs when I do crazy moves with my hair
- During the day, my mom takes pictures of babies, kids, grown-ups, and even us
- One of my favorite things to do with my mom is snuggle with her in the morning when I wake up
- I would describe my mom as "beautiful mom with beautiful eyes and beautiful hair
- My mom likes to do chores and buy us cute clothes
- When my mom was my age she probably loved to play with baby dolls
- One thing I want my mom to know is that she is so funny on Fridays, because on Fridays she gives squishes.

Tooth Fairy tales...

Belle had been trying to lose this tooth for a LONG time, with it basically hanging out for a week.  But it finally came out, and Dad was out of town in Dothan.  This was a unique situation because Dad is always the one to tuck the kids in bed, and remind them about the tooth fairy coming.  Belle was so excited and even washed her tooth because she thought she might get some extra money.  :)  Dad reminded mom...multiple times...from facetime of when the tooth fairy usually comes, but that next morning the tooth fairy had forgotten to come (It seemed).  And with tears in her eyes, Belle came crying to her mom the next morning (MOM!).  Quickly Mom ran to Belle's room to "see if the tooth fairy had indeed come" and that's when mom found the bag of coins and little note below.  Crisis averted...dad is back home and can try and ensure proper process for later.

Career Day

Magan and I teamed up again this year for career day and hit both Davis and Belle's classes.  It is always fun to be in class with the kids and try and get them to smile.  I think both Mom and Dad did a good job, and Davis and Belle were very happy we could make it.  We even had breakfast together at school...and little Ruby was there to help also.

Happy Birthday Sam...May the Fourth be with you

So Sam is now 12 and we keep getting older.  We didn't have much planned for his birthday, but Mom always pulls out the streamers.  I remind the kids a lot how less celebrated their birthday's would be if it was just Dad planning things.  :)  But I did get a surprise at work when I found out I won tickets to the Barons game, and the only tickets available were for that night...Sam's birthday...of course I'll take them.  So we went to sam's favorite Taziki's and had him open his presents.  Dad got him the JetBoil personal camping stove, and mom got him the Nano Statue of Liberty.  He was a pretty happy kid.

At the ball game, we realized really quickly that it was going to be COLD!  Seriously May 4th in Alabama and it was COLD!  Magan bought a Baron's blanket to wrap up in.  Sam and Davis just played ball in the outfield kid park.  Belle stayed wrapped up with Mom, and Ruby got to see Lillie Mays...I wish I would have gotten the video.  She saw Lillie from across the clubhouse open room, and Lillie saw her, and waved her over...then Ruby ran all the way across for a big hug from that puppy dog.  After the 7th, we did find both dogs for a quick picture also.  Happy Birthday Sam!

One last story for Sam to remember...I handed him a 20 to get him some dipping dots...and he came back with just dipping dots.  So, lesson learned for him, but we picked on him for the rest of the night about how expensive his dipping dots were.
