Nashville Wedding - Brunch and Dinner

Always an adventure to fit 6 of us into a Hotel Room...probably slowly moving towards that not being an option soon, and we forgot Ruby's pack and play, but luckily there was a chair that we fitted into a bed.  And what is it about a hotel room that makes 12 and 10 year olds jump from bed to bed, and everyone act completely crazy at bedtime.

This was a day of much fancy food for our crew.  The girls were served an elegant brunch I am told, and those flowergirls loved getting their little presents.  Magan said that Ruby just kept staring at her little ballerina jewelry box, and then told Magan "it's so pretty, and it's like Anabelle's".  I think Emily has easily won them over.

That evening was the rehearsal dinner at Maggianos, and it was excellent.  So much food, so much red sauce, only thing I skipped on was the mushrooms...because they are mushrooms, and should NOT be eaten.  It was a wonderful dinner, I mistakenly made the first speech of the night through a misplaced fork clashing to get a babies attention...and several folks got up to talk about the new couple...fun times...must admit that was the most fun rehearsal dinner, even with a great slideshow.  Magan is mad at me because I did not get her speech to Marcus which was supersweet, and she was the only one to go ahead and throw out the word "baby" to the almost weds.

Wonderful end to a very adventurous day...

Davis' Field Trip - 4H Center

The Alabama 4H center is hidden in Columbiana, AL, but really a nice LARGE facility.  Never been out here, but I was able to join Davis on a nice day for a field trip.  On our first activity of the day, I thought this will not be good, when the leader said "Who wants to get wet".

So right out of the box, the kids put on boots and with nets starting trying to find bugs and critters in the ecosystem.  They mentioned some other scientific stuff, but I was just thinking this is a recipe for some wet kids for the remainder of the day.  And I was right, couple of the kids went in too deep and had wet feet for the rest of the day, then Davis did the same with one foot, then another kid just "accidentally" slipped in without any boots.  Dear me, well I was only watching Davis and two other boys (Robby and Tyler), and 2 of my 3 had wet feet.  Davis is pointing below to a water bug he found, and one of the other boys found a large crawfish.

Davis is fun to watch as he is much more of a volunteer than Sam.  As in, he actually raises his hand to volunteer when Sam finds his way behind the largest kids to ensure that his hand is not even seen.  I wish I had a video of Isaac's mom jerking madly to get away from a yellow jacket...probably the funniest thing I saw all day.  Two kids stung...LOTS of yellow jackets.  I think Davis and the other kids learned alot, the leaders here were really good with the kids, and Me and Dave got to play around and be silly a bit too.

Ruby and Dad's Birthday

Busy around our house, and since me and Ruby's birthday's are close, we shared a birthday dinner at Mt. Fuji.  We also had some presents on other scout days, but anyway, I think all had a good time.  Ruby was most excited about her new "Bitty Baby" from the American girl store...her name is "Audrey", and now Ruby and Belle are always playing babies.  Magan was so happy the other day when a neighbor friend of Belle's called to see if she could come over and play, Belle said "Aww,  Mom, me and Ruby were playing and having so much fun".  Magan told her she did not have to go over to her friends, and Belle said "Oh, yeah, I will just play with Ruby".  Ruby also got some stuffed Wizard of Oz characters to go with the Halloween stuff...but also because Ruby loves loves this movie right now.

Dad got his favorite Disney socks in Monorail and Dole Whip varieties.  Surprised that Magan found them, as previously they were listed as Disney parks only.  Wearing the Tiki Bird socks today, and have decided this is the most comfortable socks ever.  Dave got me the Mike and Ike mega mix, and it is my new favorite.
