So cute!

Davis likes to pretend cough alot and recently when I don't react to his coughing he looks me straight in the face and says "I coffee, moooom" Ha, ha, have to laugh! For the past few months ( I think since I have been pregnant and so tired in the mornings) Sam and Davis, who get up most days between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m., have been crawling in bed beside me to drink their morning milk. Davis isn't satisfied with lying beside me he has to be touching me or have half his body on me. I usually turn my back to him so that he will not lay on my face. All by himself he started turning his back to me and then scooting up against my back. The reason I find this so sweet and worth writing about is b/c that is EXACTLY how I like to sleep with Scott! I always scoot my back to his so that I can feel him breathing to help put me to sleep. Davis feels the same just about 1/3 of the size :) Sam on the other hand likes to lay on the other side of the bed on Dad's love pillow (I embroidered LOVE by hand into a pillowcase for Scott when we were dating, and he still uses it). We call it Love pillow : ) This morning Davis actually slept in until almost 7:00!! Sam came in the bedroom talking my ear off and I finally said, "Sam let mom rest a little more while Davis is still sleeping. That means you can lay beside me, just be very quiet." About 3 min. later he started giggling a little, I couldn't resist asking him why since I knew he had to have thought it up in his own little mind. He said " Mrs. Nay said 4 polka dot polka dot 4, she's so funny" I thought for a minute and remembered his memory verse is Matt. 4:4 and that must have been how she explained it to them. I love that he finds humor in little things and apparently remembers Bible Class! He is getting so BIG! I still can not grasp the thought of him getting big enough to be in school from 8-3 every day! Think I will have to worry about that when the time comes and enjoy every minute for now. This is a video of his first memory verse ever learned. He loves learning them and saying them first in class, or so his teacher tells me. He has been learning one each week and the other day he was practicing with his dad and he said "So many memory verses are going to give me a heartattack" think he got that one from me, it just sounds so much cuter coming out of his mouth. I need to blog about our newest baby that is on the way and my blown tire next. But for now I have to write a part of the tire story. Sam practices his memory verse every night and one night when Scott was out of town, we got in at like 11:00 due to some unfortunate events involving a nail and a tire. But when we got home I took a sleeping boy from his carseat to lay him in bed and he sat straight up and said "I have to do my memory verse" I said "are you serious" when he did not reply or lay down I decided he was serious. We practiced it and he said it with the sleepiest eyes and then lay down and went right to sleep : ) I expected him to want to say a prayer too, but we made it by with just a memory verse that night.

HodgePodge of Sam and Davis Stories

The other day, Davis and I were playing in the floor, and I began acting like I was sleeping by pretend snoring very loudly. Davis thought this was funny, and began chuckling, then he said “Grand Daddy”, and I finally realized why it was SO funny to him.
I don’t know what it is, but I really like flying kites, and both Sam and Davis both enjoy it as well. We had a Marvel comic kite that we flew for a long time together before it finally broke during a large gust of wind. Well, I recently bought both Sam and Davis their own and Sam found out that he could fly it without having wind. He was sooooo excited to show me how he could fly it “all by myself”. Letting out a small amount of string, he began running around and around in circles, with the kite soaring behind him. It was so sweet watching him because he was smiling the whole time and could not stop turning back as he ran to watch the kite flying in the air. Well, since Sam had the hang of it, I looked over at Davis to help him with his kite. About that time, I heard a large THUD, and turned to see Sam lying next to my Car that was parked in the driveway. Wanting to laugh because I knew what had happened, but concerned because of the large THUD of Sam running his kite right into my car, I asked if he was OK. Sam gave me that big grin of his, and then said “I bonked my head flying my kite”, then we both started laughing…and laughing and laughing.

A couple of weeks back I had the boys all to myself, as Magan was shopping down in Auburn. We decided to make a whirlwind trip of the McWane Center and the Zoo in one day. We quickly found out that half of the Jefferson County schools were taking a field trip at the McWane Center, and the other half were at the zoo. So after a brief visit to these crowded places, we visited Granddaddy at his work. The boys loved this because he bought them some skittles. He then suggested we visit the Vulcan…so off we went. We had a fun time there, but I was not ready to pay for the museum and ride to the top of the Vulcan if the boys were scared. Unlucky for me, they were not scared, and wanted to ride the elevator up. I am afraid of heights, but am willing to try things so hopefully Sam and Davis will not develop the same amount of fear I have. We made it to the top and Sam was just walking around like it was nothing. YOU COULD SEE THROUGH THE GRATING all the way to the GROUND!! My toes were curled, legs shakey, and butt cheeks clinched as I walked the boys around…got some quick pictures…and headed back to the elevator as soon as possible. Back on the ground, I asked the boys if they liked it, “YEAH, lets do it again” Sam said. “No, ‘s scary” said Davis. I sided with Mr. Dave, and told Sam I was too scared to do it again. But we did go into the museum and while small, the kids seem to like walking through.

Yep, the boys thought it was pretty funny that Vulcan forgot his pants.

Davis thought "this guy" was neat.

Sam thought it was funny to sit on Vulcan's toe.

One Day.....

One day I will wake up to a clean house and go to bed that night with it being in close to the same state it started in. One day I will walk through the living room without stepping on toys and army men who are camouflaged to the perfect color in my rug. One day I will roll my toilet paper off the roll and it will roll straight and easy because no one jumped or sat on the package before it made it to the bathroom.
One day I will not be wakened 3 or 4 times in the middle of the night by sick babies who need mom to "hold you" or who need "sometttin to drink". One day I will be able to come home after a busy day and rest instead of needing to feed hungry faces, give baths, and dress little clean bodies. One day I will get myself dressed and grab my purse and leave the house, instead of fixing cups, refilling diapers and wipes, and wrestle with children who want to wear their pajamas all day instead of their real clothes. One day my babies won't need me so much any more and I will miss their little feet and hands and cries and smiles and hugs and being able to sqeeze their entire bodies in my arms! Thank you God for each and every day!

Hugs and Kisses

If you have been around Davis much you know that he is all in or all out most of the time.
There is very little in between with him.
For about 2 weeks straight the boys gave each other hugs and kisses at bed time and then ended up play wrestling on the floor before they were done.
Davis has Always wanted to snuggle up and hug on me and Scott where Sam has always been a little more independent.
When it comes to hugging and kissing each other, Sam as always been ready to give his brother one where Davis has to be in the mood for Sam.
In these videos you can see what I am talking about : )

You may need to pause the music at the bottom of the page to hear what they are saying.
It is also a little bit hard to hear Davis for some reason, don't know why.

Lots of pictures and imaginations

Is this an uncle Marc face or what!?!?!
If you know my brother I think you will agree that Davis looks just like Marcus in this picture to me, wierd : )
I took this picture b/c I like how Davis has turned the back of his booster seat into a new chair and the table a new footstool.

The next few pictures are of Sam and some of his inventions, he and Jude turned the parts of the pack n play at Nanny's house into guns and the bed into a fort for an entire afternoon of play.
Then the blocks were some of Sam's favorite airplanes, yes he is very serious about those airplanes and their construction.
There is also a picture of the glasses her made out of the same blocks, love that one!
These are blocks that we played with as children Nanny passed them on to them and Sam has really loved them. Davis was pretending one of the blocks was a cheese sandwich just yesterday.

The next few pictures are of Sam's room after he cleaned it, lol!
I didn't ask him to do it this particular day but he decided it needed to be cleaned. From the amount of toys PILED everywhere, you can see that it DID need to be cleaned. He was so excited to show me his hard work and I told him it was so clean I HAD to take some pictures of it. He was so pleased with his work and I have to admit although it was a pile of mess on the tables, I didn't have to dodge toys under my feet for the rest of the day.

I may need Scott to come in and edit this one, he took this picture. Sam was Indiana Jones, Superman, Starwars, Spiderman, camping guy, or something like that.

Davis painting with Sam, yes his mouth is blue! Can't beat non-toxic when the colors look so tasty : )

Davis' entourage is slowly decreasing in number, thank goodness!
He is down to a handful now, but he still sleeps on this one side of the bed. Sam sleeps all over the place, I usually find something hanging off the bed or his feet propped up in the air somehow with whatever toy he played with until he fell asleep on his chest or face or in his hand. I usually have to turn his whole body around when I check on him before I go to bed. Davis on the other hand likes to lay in one spot beside his friends.
These Sam's club buggies always seem like a good idea at first and the boys look so cute and happy when they get into them. The trouble starts from the moment they realize they can touch each other!

This is Davis' new rocketship! I saw it at kidsmarket and couldn't resist seeing my little Buzz fan flying his rocketship thru the house. It counts down to take off and then vibrates on take off. It is hilarious, it also lights up in the back for fire and says a few more things. They have both loved the $12 purchase but my favorite part of these pictures is Davis' little red overalls. I think they are so adorable on him!

Little Minds

This morning we had a great time enjoying a little sunshine and a soft breeze. While outside Sam found a caterpillar. He played with that poor thing until I thought it would die from exhaustion. He put him on his army man truck, that was a $3 find on clearance yesterday at Wal-mart.
I told him to leave the poor thing alone and let it play on his truck. ABout 5 min later Sam had the truck in the air shaking it saying, "Det it out, I want it out"
I looked and the scared little caterpillar had climbed into the one small hole on the top of the truck. At first glance I thought he had squished it trying to "det it out"

I finally poked the right way and it came running out. I am glad to say, I think it finally got away without to many injuries. : )
The boys were swinging and I looked down to see both of them almost asleep staring at the ground.
We came up for lunch and had mini corndogs for lunch. I cut them up for the boys to eat and Sam was taking all of the bread off for fun. He started giggling and said "Look mom, a wee wee, ssssssppppp" that last part was the sound of it tee teeing : )
I had to turn my head and laugh, it was so innocent and so funny!
