So the hodgepodge of activities this month...Halloween party with the Montgomerys...Sam spends some time at home with us, completing puzzles with Ru...Davis has no shirt on, and I don't know why this picture was in this months assortment, but maybe he will know one day...Davis and Mom get senior pictures at the Vulcan...Mom still doing therapy for her poor finger...Ruby has the 5th grade veteran's day choir concert...I met Ruby at school to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast at lunch...MawMaw got to see Sean Dietrich and Three on a String again...Davis spent the weekend with Sam at Alabama, and got to go see the Mercer game without having to work all day. I did work that day, but was glad to meet up with the boys at least for a couple of quarters at the ball game...Sam has a new car...Christmas decorations are up, little later than usual, but they are there...and old dryer broke, so we got an early Christmas present of a new one. Happy thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving with the Junkins
Another good gathering of the family for Thanksgiving. Nanny and Granny both have their own forms of mac and cheese, and while I like them both, granny's thicker cheese and the sea shell noodles are still my favorite. Combined with the sweet spiral ham, the taste is very hard to beat. MawMaw's pecan pie was almost taken from us, but when one was left when she had to go home, it was gone within a very short period.
That night was full of fun games. A table crowded with Poetry for Neanderthals was great. The younger kids seemed to really like the new Uzzle game. And while most of the family was playing "paper", I got to learn how to play Azul. I know there is always some goat lords going on, and I saw many a Jenga towers falling. There was some crazy laughter I think at Granny using slanty eyes to get people to say Japanese (probably more to the story, but I am sure it was funny, as I know she was trying to figure out some other way to do it, but when it is done, all know what it means). Sometime in this, Davis found Waldo, and I think got some money out of that deal, I don't remember this even being a game. Noel came over and we got our first family picture with her in it. Favorite quote from the games “Name things you pick up at the beach” Davis without hesitation “women"
Then everyone split up for spending the night, as our girls went to spend the night with Ivey, and laughed about her talking non-stop and having trouble sleeping. Colby's crew was out in the camper. Sam, Davis, and Ben found spots in the living room.
The next morning all the girls went out together for shopping. And I think Katie's post said it best..."Sister-in-law Black Friday shopping plus Anabelle for her first year with us and Noël. I think we legitimately shopped until we dropped and enjoyed our yearly Carltons lunch!" I heard that the car got pretty full, and it worked out when Sam came and picked up Noel, as someone may not have had room to even get back to Grannys.
While the girls were shopping, the boys continued our annual disc golf outing, but this year with 9 people in tow, we divided up into three teams, and had Granddad there to referee and point out hawks. It was freezing cold when we first started, but got somewhat better once we got out in the open for the second 9. I think the highlights included John's disc flying backwards behind the tee box on one hole, Mark's crazy throws rolling to the exact spot needed and onetime bouncing up to the bottom of the cage, and my lucky bird shot from 20 yards out. We also continued our yearly lunch at the pizza buffet where we knocked down a lot of pizza. I did not count slices, but pretty sure I hit 7 of the cinnamon rolls.
