This was also the week of AHG graduation, so I did not get to join Davis on the troop's first visit to Camp Jackson. This was the first campout for a large number of the recent crossovers and Davis' first shot and directing these new guys. I think in general all went well from what he shared. He did get picked on at both the campout and the following meeting and the following Court of Honor because he and another older scout sunk their canoe way out in the lake. Fortunately Max and Kyle were able to rescue both Davis AND the canoe. But they did get picked on for the rookie move. They hiked to Pinnacle Point from their campsite at the bottom of this hill shown below, and from the short video Davis shared with me, that drop was really a long way. It was a fairly laid back weekend, learning some canoe skills and doing some hiking. Wish I could have been with him, but also very glad to have this weekend off at home.
