Death by Dessert

Anabelle's first big role in the middle school drama club.   They worked all year on this play "Death by Dessert", and it was really a fun event to watch.  Belle had tried out for one of the chef roles of two rival kitchens...and she also became one of the potential murderers during the play.   As the audience, we played an active role in the show, enjoying Bertelone's Italian served by some of the younger drama club students.   It was a really good meal, and while their speakers did not work great in this room, we followed the story fairly well.   Anabelle knew all of her lines, but was thrown off when others did not and used lines from different parts of the scene.   I think they had actually not fully rehearsed the whole play one time...just went into it and did the best they could.   I think their drama coach was a little overwhelmed, which orchestrating both a meal and show was pretty huge, then several of the key players started dropping out or getting sick.   

But they made it through, and Belle got a standing ovation from the crowd.  She was also on stage when the whole set almost fell over due to the dead body being moved off scene.   haha.  Alas, She was not the murderer, it was the waiters.   Sorry, just ruined it for those that have not seen the show.   The dessert did almost murder us as it had SOOOO much icing.   Belle made her way over to us during the intermission and at the end, which was kind of cool because the other stars of the play, including the one that was murdered came and spoke with us.   And since this was also Sam's birthday, Anabelle got the whole cast to come over and sing to Sam after the show.   That was unexpected, but fun.   I can't wait to see Belle performing more in these dramas.   She did well.   As we were leaving tho, I did find out two bits of information from Belle..."You know, some of the other dads brought flowers"...Strike 1.   Then "Our drama teacher told the servers that if they did really well, then they might get a tip"...Strike 2 (Our poor server...she was awesome and never let our drinks get to the bottom of the cup...I did think to tip her, but was confused about protocol during a Junior High drama event)
