Barons (Club Level)

I have been wanting to get up to the club level since our first time at Regions Park.  Our usual seats are out in the berm area...general admission.  No complaints about those seats, but the club level took us up to another level...the club level.  Southern has 6 seats in this level that are given away through an email hat draw, and I finally won.  And we came on 50 cent hot dog nights, so it was supposed to be a pretty cheap night, but I had to have some dreamland ribs, and Magan got the dreamland bbq nachos.

Me and the boys had our gloves, but as luck would have it, it seemed like every foul ball went into the berm area where we usually sit.  It was a great night for baseball, we had an extra ticket, and my whole crew was very mad at me for not asking granddaddy to the game earlier.  But our good friend John Dean had some tickets with the "lower level commoners", so I was able to let him use the extra ticket to come up and enjoy the club.

Belle and Ruby went down a little early to play in the play area.  And Belle was SO excited to get to see the boy and girl dog.  Walking with them over to the picture area.  My big girl was just glowing as she told me about this amazing experience.  :)

Summer Reading

Each year the Shelby County libraries promote some summer reading by offering library dollars for each group of books the kids read.  While the hope that the literary suspense and offer of intellectual increase is motivation enough, the candy and prizes seem to really do the trick to get the kids reading.  This year the kids made the paper in on of their library excursions, they read many many books, and Sam WON the most books read by 3-5 grader for Shelby County.  He can go through some historical "Who was ...." books pretty quick and knocked out A LOT.  That boy loves history, and fascinated with historical figures and their stories.

Sam won lots of cool prizes in this bag below.   Probably the best prize was a $25 gift card to BAMM...where he picked up...some more books.

Road Trip - Driving Day 4

So that was it.  A very sleepy day finally driving home.  A final goodbye to the arch.  One last really good meal at Cracker Barrel.  A wave to Superman in Metropolis.  Some closed roads and shortcuts in Nashville.  Then a miserable time on Hwy 280, hitting it at 5:15 PM.  But finally we were home.  Davis is my buddy in the back seat, I will peek back at him looking out and enjoying the scenery, give him a little wave, and that smile widens as he returns the wave.

I asked Dave to write some words about the trip that I could use in the blog.  And with his words, I will end this long series of Road Trip blogs.  "We went on vacation.  We went to the arch!  People go to the very top and clean the roof!  We played in a pool.  I learned how to do 2 backflips under water!  We went to Nickelodeon Universe.  My favorite ride was the Fairly Odd Coaster! We went to a water park!  The water slides go outside!  We had a fun trip."
