Summer Reading

Each year the Shelby County libraries promote some summer reading by offering library dollars for each group of books the kids read.  While the hope that the literary suspense and offer of intellectual increase is motivation enough, the candy and prizes seem to really do the trick to get the kids reading.  This year the kids made the paper in on of their library excursions, they read many many books, and Sam WON the most books read by 3-5 grader for Shelby County.  He can go through some historical "Who was ...." books pretty quick and knocked out A LOT.  That boy loves history, and fascinated with historical figures and their stories.

Sam won lots of cool prizes in this bag below.   Probably the best prize was a $25 gift card to BAMM...where he picked up...some more books.
